A friend of mine decided that he hated his newer Bosch dishwasher(racking was terrible and did not dry...had to open after it was done and usually ran the dw at nite, so when the dw was opened in the morning, everything was wet).
A neighbor of mine did a kitchen remodel and I took his KitchenAid dw.
Lo and behold, my friend decided to take replace his Bosch with this KitchenAid(KUDM23SE)

I have no doubt you can switch with the best of them, but it breaks my heart to see a man of your stature laying on vinyl. Shouldn't you only work on marble, porcelain tile or inlaid Brazilian flooring? At least carry a mat for protection.

Bottom of machine. In area that used to be an access panel when DW-ers had TWO doors/panels.

This ain't my hosue, so please pardon the schmutz. I would have cleaned so that you judgemental bitches wouldn't be dis'in my @$$.

Bosch-es have a water tray that catches any leaking. (See beige plastic). IIRC there is a sensor there that squeels should there be a flood.

The elctrical connection is in the customary place, right side of access door area.

Unlike Americna dishwashers, (where cable from the house meets machine's wires and gets a wire nut over each conductor, this electrical juncition box has a terminal block.

We do have terminal blocks for wiring in stoves and clothes dryters (whica use 220v). My gut instinct is that terminal blocks make for safer and tigher connections. With 220v one has to be REALLY safetly conscious.

Rinse aid dispenser cap fell into the machine and 'toasted' during a drying cycle. Although it it ugly, it still functions.

With this economy I wonder why I bothered getting an education. The way things are going we all need to be working on our backs to get ahead financially.

Talked with him this morning

He is thrilled with the good racking.
He was annoyed at the lengthy cycles(some taking over 2 hours) and with no drying heater.
The cycles are much quicker(the final rinse is automatically heated).

He is one to set the dw on before bedtime and empty in the morning. With the Bosch, most items were still wet in the morning. With the KitchenAid this morning, everything was clean and dry(Normal cycle).

Glad I was able to rescue this KitchenAid and send it to a good home.
