I don't know whether my opinion is welcomed, at this moment, but I don't think that resorting to name calling is the answer <br
I feel badly that Sacto T B left. I can't understand why. Did he leave before or after Toggle's posts? <br
I hope that it wasn't the fact that I pointed out that a law was being broken that did it. I was trying to remain constructive on an issue that is very important to me and should be to others as well <br
VEG... I have to respectfully disagree with your statement "asking others not to bid against you really isn't that big a deal". This is a BIG deal when it's done publicly. IT IS A FEDERAL CRIME!!! There are many of us who are very good friends, here, but there are many lurkers on this and other lists who you do not know!! I personally know someone who has "done the time to pay for this crime" and the penalties are severe!!!! Please be careful. What you agree on in private is private BUT what you say in writing on a public forum is another! It's evidence!! <br
I hope that feelings can be mended and Steve (S T B) will return. I really did mean for this to become a serious, informative and constructive discussion. If I have been offensive...I really do apologize :-

People really need to learn that just because someone posted something doesn't mean you ABSOLUTELY MUST respond to it. There are many people here that one way or another feel that they just must put in their 2 cents every time someone says something. <br
Read the threads and the posts. And unless you really have something to contribute to move the conversation forward, keep your hands off your keyboard. If you are replying just for the sake of replying because you think you are whitty and like to read your own responses, then you don't need to be replying <br

we gotta get STB back!!

Me too!! And he was old enough to know and remember about the 1950's,and often was willing to share storys and information with us.

Re:

I'm new here and actually a distant relative {half-brother} of "STB" and I'm letting you know that he is real hurt with what ended up happening, not as necessarily because of when he asked about not Bidding against him, but the "Negative" Feedback on the rest of this Thread Posting, especially with the "BIG ASSHOLE" "TOGGLES" opening his Big Mouth the way that he did <br
"STB" actually has some Health Issues of Stress and Depression that he is seeking help for, besides Anxiety when things like this happen with him, to where it really upsets him and he goes into hiding, for quite a while. He will only allow those that are real close to him to call or come over to see him <br
I would gratefully appreciate any and all who did especially give "STB" their wonderful support during this trying time, to E-Mail him and let him know how you feel about what happened and give him as much more support as possible. I know that he will hopefully feel a whole lot better soon and will be glad to hear from all of his Supporters <br
Regards, Richard

First of all I want to thank you for joining us. Second of all I hate to see STB gone and would like to see him return. This whole asking not to bid isn't a big deal (or at least it shouldn't be), If I want to bid on an Ebay item, I can ask other people not to bid. But other people have the right to bid anyway if they wish to. I'm sorry your brother didn't win the vacuum, but I certainly know how that feels. Unfortunately, people can pretty much say anything and all you can do is take it with a grain of salt. I certainly think the "vibrator" comment was extremely un-called for. I hope your brother feels better soon and tell him Knitwits says Hello.

Richard <br
I do hope that Steve will return. I don't think that he would want to hear from me but please let him know that I do want him to return. I have seen some of his posts and, yes, he is very willing to be helpful and caring. <br
Please, Richard, I know that you are angry and I can understand it but I don't think that you need to call anyone names re:"BIG ASSHOLE". You say that you are new, here, and I am relatively new as well but I can tell you that I have seen Toggles be just as kind, caring and helpful to people. Yes, he is a "tell it like I see it" person at times BUT I have always seen him apologize when he was wrong. This takes a BIG MAN!!! He takes responsibility for his actions instead of running. I don't recall Steve ever acknowledging that he understood our feelings or that he was legally wrong. I'm no stranger to mental illness either so I do "somewhat" understand <br
I DO hope that Steve can see his way back here and I mean that sincerely! <br

and here I am to do just that <br
Steve/Richard <br
I apologize about my comments. <br
The original e-mail that get sent ot me and tohers stuck a nerve, and I responded emotionally. I should not have done that <br
I see that I am still blocked in writing to you from over a year ago, so I am doing it publicly. <br
I am confident that Steve is very near us already. <br <br <br <br <br <br

You always get a second chance

I'm not going to comment on what transpired here. I just want to say this. If you look at my eBay history, I've been in the auction game for a loooooooooooong time. Virtually nothing is unique. If you're patient, you'll get another shot <br
There was this fabulous turquoise kitchen clock that was posted on eBay. I wanted it soooo bad. Typically, a vintage kitchen clock might sell for around 20 bucks. But I wanted it bad. So I bid like 120 bucks so something completely ridiculous just to be sure that I won it. I lost the freakin' auction. I could not believe it. I contacted the winner and offered him more money that he paid for it. It turns out he was a clock collector so I sweetened the pot with some vintage clocks as well. No deal. The guy wouldn't part with it. I was bummed <br
Maybe about a year later, the same clock in the same color came up for auction. I got it for 9.99 plus shipping <br
I can tell you a crazy assed story about how I bid an outrageous amount on a vintage TV, lost the auction, and ended up owning the very same TV only weeks later for far less than what I had bid on it <br
The point is, if you are patient and perseverant, you'll eventually get the thing for a price you want to pay. I lose 99 percent of the auctions I bid on. I have bid on the same item dozens of times, but there's always that one time where it goes under the radar and you get it for a song. You just have to work it and be patient. That's what I do and it's worked out well for me.

Ass-u-me...

Whoa, that's harsh...certainly a fair share of bad feelings circulating here <br
Steve (Sacto) didn't deserve any bit of what was thrown at him, but at the same time Bobbynyc, we DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT need to talk down to another member on this site, especially one that I respect and whose contributions and postings I enjoy. I've had the opportunity to meet Steve aka Toggleswitch at the Convention, and not only is he an very nice guy, he is much different than he acts on this site (and much more G-rated too) and I know for a fact that he does not intentionally come across as what you just called him; nor does he try to for that matter. Steve is an adult and certainly doesn't need the likes of myself to stand up for him, but when it comes to another member being insulted and harassed in front of everyone on a public forum like this you better believe I will stand up and say something. So it needs to stop here, right now, got it? Two wrongs sure as hell don't make a right, and unless you have met him personally (and I'm not talking about a damn WEBCAM either, thank you), you technically DON'T KNOW HIM and DO NOT have the right to make assumptions like this. <br
I witnessed this very same behavior on the old Applianceville forum over an eBay auction, with the very same results. Unfortunately I didn't do anything and speak out against it either, but I sure as hell will now. No longer am I going to "stand on the sidelines" when someone gets a public dressing-down like they just did. Steve made a mistake and apologized, and that is the end. Absolutely NO further comments are necessary. <br
I hope I made my point clear <br

Oh For God Sakes

OK it seems to me that both Steve Sacto and Steve Toggle appologized for what they did/said so shouldn't we be done with all this? I'm mean really <br
Steve Toggle once again inside voice (back of hand on forehead <br
Steve Sacto and/or Richard Maytagservice I'm going to ignore the fact that both of you seem to share the EXACT same IP address in your postings (hands now on hips) <br
Would anyone like a slice of cake?
