Price of Tide, Going Down?

I've been to a couple of stores, the past few days, and have noticed that the once $12 - $16 bottles, are now like $9.87, and $9.99. 

 

These aren't sale prices, these are prices that have been "reset" or "repriced"  

 

Maybe it really is a temporary thing, but, I'd say it's a good sign.

I bought a 40oz, 25 load bottle of Tide Mountain Spring at Walmart for $4.97 last week. Maybe a plan to price out the new "Simply Clean and Fresh"? Which was priced at $4 and some change for a slightly larger bottle. Anyway, I'll take it, as it was over $7 not too long ago.

my question is what is being taken away to lower the cost? I doubt P&G are doing us any favors here.

Liquid Tide Is On Sale

Somewhere locally in my area of NYC every week and has been so for months. Have given up asking for rain checks since there isn't a point. Just last week on store had a buy one get one free offer for the 50oz bottles. That means for a bit over $5 one could get 100oz (or 92 as the newer large bottles have begun to roll out), for <$6.

Tide powder (what is left of them and not many stores carry) never goes on sale. So go figure.

I was at Lowes Foods today

And they had 32/20 load bottles for $3.99. I picked up one, with a $2 off coupon, making it a $2 bottle, or .16 cents a load. 

 

That's not bargain brand price, but, imo, that's a pretty awesome deal. I really do think, even though it's not pennies a load, it's very reasonably priced (at that cost).

Well, I'm afraid they took *something* out, because it was unable to remove a cooking grease stain from a 100% cotton T shirt, washed in warm water in a Direct Drive Shredmore set on "Heavy soil". Even being pretreated with detergent a few minutes before washing, most of the stain remained. Nothing seemed overly clean.
