Reality check again please: Your home heating costs

We have a large boiler here and we put an automatic flue on unit, (it opens when the gas valve opens and closes when valve is closed, it keeps the heat in the boiler instead of going up chimney, we saved between 200/300 month on gas costs, we heat about 25,000 sq ft. It all adds up,

My Humidistat has both markings on it....Outdoor temp in *F and suggested indoor relative humidity at that outdoor temperature...

I got my bill today. $100.64 for 677 kwh This billing cycle used both a little AC as well as heat. So all in all, I was pleased cuz it went down $8.

Our Gas bill for November $89, the electric bill $46. Our highest electric bill of the summer was about $95, $45 is about average for the winter. In January our Gas Bill can be $200, but since we've just put in brand new windows I expect it to drop. Our gas bill should be higher but we have not had a normal winter in six years now, they all the been above normal temperature wise.

Last night our overnight low was -1F. We used to average 32 nights a year that the temperature drops below 0F, unforutnately in 2006 we have only gone down below zero 3 times! Damn this global warming.

Our electric bill was $219, last months was $190..Just came today... Ughh

Chad, someone is home 24 hours at your house. Since I"m gone 8 hours (the minimum recommended for doing this), I have my t-stat do a set-back to 58 in winter and 86 in summer during the day. It's recovered to 68 winter and 79 summer by 6:45 pm every weekday.

True some one is here most of the time (i work from home alot and grams and gramps are usualy here and they too do real estate from home), but we never touch the t-stat...The furnace ran for over two hours today..Its lige 21 degrees and snowing..
