Finish Quantum

I bought a box yesterday, from a local shop. The thing was, they were clearly manufactured in Poland, for the American market!

The box had the "Finish" name, and to the upper left was "Electrasol". It went on to mention "Jet Dry", a few American dishwasher manufacturers, (Maytag, Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Bosch), and the Reckitt-Benkiser office was New Jersey. The ingredients were not listed in the European style, but made mention of the Phosphorus % content and the three main irritant ingredients.

...to see how the American formulation works in conjuction with a European dishwasher and wash cycles....

It actually worked perfectly fine; no different from the usual UK version. Probably just be marketing spin.

...we should get some of our American friends to send us samples of the detergents which don't seem to work as well and try them....you know, all the non-phosphated stuff....

from the results i have seen with quantum was it cleaned BETTER than the old cascade WITH phosphates in it. when i used cascade all the time WITH phosphates my one pan from my egg cooker would never come completely clean, when i used the new NON phosphated quantum it came COMPLETELY CLEAN! no egg on it whatsoever!! although towards the end cascade didn't even contain one precent of phosphates. i was doing research and it looks like quantum tabs for the uk contain 30 percent phosphates

Just got some of the finish tabs. Haven't tried them yet, but so glad the experiences are wonderful! Cant wait to see the results.

Apparently, big lots here has some REAL cascade. So if all else fails, $6 box here I come!

 The Cascade with bleach and 6.7% phosphates that Big Lots sells works well. It doesn't overly reek of bleach either.
 A few months ago Big Lots had several pallets of it. We went in there last week and not a box was left.

Finish Tabs

I have switched to Finish regular tabs, not Quantum, and am pleased. I still have a big box of Cascade left, which I sometimes put in the 1st/prewash cup, but I use the Finish for the main wash. Big difference vs Cascade alone, or the last box of regular Finish powder which I last used in the early fall.

If your current box of Finish powder contains cholrine bleach it is the old formula. The new formula powder contains enzymes and works almost as well as the tabs and may cost a bit less.
