Sad to report my ge he top load is having issues, first i dislike the rinse cycle, it goes into a low speed agitation for the rinse cycle, on a large load or comforters items hardly move, now just yesterday the suspension rod started squeaking, cheap plastic bushings, if i move them with my hand they all squeak, its so disappointing when you spend 1k on just a washer and it is cheap, i guess thats what i get for buying modern right lol, on a pleasant note ge's customer service is GREAT, they are shipping me a brand new front loader at no cost and they are removing the old one.

I'm sorry to hear that your top-loader is already acting up. What's the model number of the (presumably GE) front-loader they're replacing it with? I hope it has an internal water heater so you can get truly hot water when you need it via Allergy, Steam, or Sanitize options.

It's no secret that my machine of choice is a modern front-loader. Tumble agitation and low-water levels are a perfect pairing. The detergent solution is so concentrated that soils and stains are removed more completely. They also tend to handle large bulky items like comforters very well.

Use a top-rated HE detergent like powdered Tide With Bleach (formerly known as Tide Vivid White + Bright) or liquid Wisk Original Scent, which has a small HE symbol on the front of the jug, but is compatible with both HE and traditional machines. It's what I use in my top-loading Speed Queen.

Hope you'll share photos of your new machine when it arrives.

Ge

Eugene i am getting the 1200ww front load yes it does have an internal heater but no steam cycle but in the temp button it has hot and extra hot , so im guessing it can be used in conjunction with other cycles not limited to just the sanitize?? Not sure yet, wisk is a great detergent, i use tide pods and liquid, also bought a mega box of persil universal powder henkel version and love it, im a detergent junkie, i have enough to last two years.

Such is shopping for laundry machinery in the 01s. Hope it turns out well.

Goodness is hard to achieve in the age of government intervention and corporate chicanery.

Don't you wish they still sold Easy Spindrys? I do.

Watched your video

I almost bought that model but then decided on the SpeedQueen AWN542.
I believe that is a relatively new model (not that it is an excuse for that noise).

Let us know how you like the front loader. That is another machine I had my sights on.

Congrats on purchasing a washer from the USA. Appliance Park, KY.

So I was looking at the video and thought the creaking was a tad annoying too. I am surprised your not just replacing your machine with another top loader like that. Did GE give you the option ? I was looking at the same washer to replace my Speed Queen washer. Yes I said it! Lol

they are shipping me a brand new front loader at no cost

Wow that is service!

How did you manage to wrangle a new machine so easily?

Ge

Well, i origonally contacted ge via facebook and complained about the rinse agitation and how weak it was, so they contacted me, i told ge i thought a front loader would do a better job, so they offered to send me a front load machine, i refused because i did like the machine, however when the squeaking noise started i promptly emailed ge and asked if the offer was still valid, the customer service woman tara was very nice and said ok we will ship you a front load at no cost. She said normally there is a $110 dollar shipping fee but being as i picked out a front loader that costs about $100 less than what i paid for the top loader she said the would waive it, so i pay ZERO for a brand new machine and the pickup the old one. I will buy only ge appliances now on.

frugal

No offense to anyone. I post like I am paying by the letter and link. I Conduct myself as I would in Robert and Fred's living room.

That is amazing that GE did that for you. They really are stepping up to the plate and standing by their products like that. GE is all I buy now too. I love my new GE gas stove and the dishwasher we installed in the tenants apt is working out very well. That dishwasher cleans up a storm, and my stove has the best baking oven I have ever used in a gas range. Temps are spot on and the bake mode uses the broiler as well to balance out the heating. Convection baking produces the best cakes and cookies by pulsing the fan on and off at low speeds.
My GE Profile dryer has performed flawlessly since we got it. Very quiet and drying is fast and even. High temps dont fry the clothes and it never overdries the loads.
Lets us know when you get the frontloader and what you think!

Besides the weak rinse agitation - how did the top loader perform? I see it has recirculation? How did it clean? Cycle times? Roll over? Did you try the smart dispense? Tell us moe about it, please! You were the only one on YT to upload (non-commercial) videos of it.

Samsung?

This GE machine looks very similar to a Samsung model that's out there. I wonder if this model was made by them for GE. I know GE has let Samsung make a few of their French Door refrigerators as well. Does it say "Made in Korea" on the model sticker?
