Just thought that I would post a few pictures of the newest arrival I collected from Lance last week. I last experienced a Superheat when I was about 8 or 9 when my Aunt had one. Having put it through it's paces this morning I must say I'm very impressed, the combination of large wash tub and equally large looking agitator really gets the load on the move and all you can hear is the gentle rumble of the motor.

Looking great there Ian and yes now all sporting the matching "Guardsman Red" , ya need a powerglide to complete the line up and yes yours will be 1957 era...whats the spinner ready for action ?

A matching Powerglide did pass through my mind, then I looked at the rapidly diminishing space in the dining room!
The spinner isn't anything exciting, it's a late Debonair, I think it's the model before the 'Indesitised' one. Perhaps I should be on the lookout for something a little more vintage.......

Hi there. I purchased a Servis superheat from ebay. Seems to work fine. The only thing I need to do is replace the pump hose as it is leaking. Don't quite know how to do this. Anyone know how to do this ? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Love the colour combination on your machine by the way.

Ian, your machines look great, although you should really have a Supertwin 3 to go with your lovely Hygena kitchen.

Johnny, is it the hose from the bottom of the tub TO the pump or the hose FROM the pump to the top of the tub that is leaking?

In that case you may find that car heater hose might work as a good substitute, I have used it in hoovermatics before now. You can buy it in Halfords by the metre. You may need to bodge a connection with the existing outlet into the tub.

Alternatively it may just be as easy to get a regular corrugated appliance outlet hose that can be hooked over the sink and cut a small hole in the back of the machine to let it through. Not authentic by any means but ultimately it might be the simpler solution if you plan to use the machine regularly, its not like the water recirculated during the wash

Thanks Al for that. I might just have to do that. I still would like to find out how you would go about disassembling the machine as I would love to give all the individual parts a good clean. Thanks again.

Hopefully when the weather warms up I can get another coat of paint on the casing of that 70 and get it back together. That's a bit closer to period of the kitchen, there were some stickers on the units when I got them with production dates on, September '76 comes to mind.

That was quite late for that style of kitchen, it must have been one of the last ones to be produced. No matter, it still looks great
