We used to use Eight O'Clock bean coffee, but since A&P no longer ownes it the price has skyrocketed. Look at the price per pound, it's crazy.

Now we use Chock Full of Nuts, regular or French Roast. It's delicious, it's easier, and doesn't break the bank. Try a can!

Eight O'Clock bean coffee is sold here at "Food Empourium" stores and goes on sale at least once a month. Have several bags sitting in deep freeze storage (we drink less coffee during the summer months),from the last sale. Each time I notice the coffee is on sale, I purchase a bag or two.
IIRC it is $11 regular price and $8 on sale.

Wow, Eight O'Clock coffee only cost about $5.50 or so at Basha's out here in Phoenix.

Tonight I went out and bought two more of those Millstone sample size bags. One is called Chocolate Velvet and the other is Raspberries n' Cream. Just totally irresistable.

Price mentioned in my post is for the largest size. Small bags are about equal or a bit more.

Aren't those little Millstones yummy? We have tried the Chocolate Velvet too! They are a wonderful way to experiment with flavoured coffee. We really enjoy them on a relaxing Sunday morning.

As far as Eight O'Clock coffee availability (since there are no more A&P's), I have seen it at Walmart and my local HEB - along with the Millstone coffees. It usually comes in 12 oz. bags in whole bean form. Does anyone remember the Bokar coffee that I believe was under the Eight O'Clock name as well?

Hey Jason...as an aside...you might want to run some white vinegar through the Coffeemaster as well. I would try brewing a couple of pot fulls followed by a couple of plain water brews.

Well, upon closer inspection, the big gasket is deteriorating. It's soft and works, but it's falling apart, probably causing the smell and the weird taste. SO, until I get another one, I'm stuck with manual french press coffee (which ain't bad either) but I do want a working vacuum pot.
