The twins arrived safe and sound even after a horrendous! Truck break down 60 miles from home!

IT must be Dream Machine Month! These are a dream set of mine.

They are in almost MINT condition, I found out that the prior owner had coal heat for most of thier lives and that I have discovered is the BEST thing for Chrome! The coal grease coats the chrome so there is no pitting whatsever!

They are being readied for service sometime in September and they will be used to test the new DASH!

Enjoy

Congratulations Jon!!!

WOW!!!! These are truly spectacular and will be fun to test the Dash in! Don't you have an identical dryer as well?

I hope the next machine you'll find will be the Wash-N-Dry Laundromat...;-)

Jon,
They are fantastic!
Where did they come from?
Did I miss something....
Do tell....
Thanks for the pictures!

Wow, those leave me totally speachless! Breath taking. Maybe a set will turn up for me at my local thrift store one of these days. I am sure they will have a sold tag on them when I find them though! LOL.

Jon your new "twins" are just to much for words. I can't wait to see all the lights!!!You know how we love those lights...... How is the Dash detergent coming along? Terry

Jon. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to see your reaction when you found out about these. As long as I've known you I have known these were a true dream set for you. I"m just beside myself.

It's also very moving emotionally for me, the washer having special meaning to me. And thank you so very much for the close-up of the panel. The laundry room was not well illuminated nor waws I tall enough to get a really good view. when I ran the machine, all I had to do was turn the dial until it started. The water temp never varied, just the weight-to-save level. And I always turned on the panel light when I was there. Unfortunately, by the time I got to see these on a regular bases (7.5), the timer light had burned out, so no color changes. However, one of the sons did tell me about that, since he knew I was so fascinated by the machine, and I've never forgotten it. I do hope some day to be able to view and read all in the panel laundry guide, so fascinated.

bottom line dude? I can't wait either. And, kinda cool these will be displayed in September. That's when we moved into our house and also when I became conscious of tis machine. Bob (now I gotta go blow my noze after crying)

Hi Jon,

Yes, it is dream machine month!! Wow, what an amazing set!! I love the colored buttons! I am amazed to see this machine has 5 wash temperatures, was this the only Westinghouse that had it? I love the Laundroguide, looks like a little radio! I see there is a lid on top of the dryer, what's it for?

Lovely matching set!!

Louis

Thanks for the

Proposals of Marriage and the congratulations!!
They were found in western and I mean WESTERN Pennsylvania. A grandson had just lost his grandmother and wanted these to go to someplace where they would be taken care of and not Krushed!

See there are semi collectors out there.

GregM helped me get them and it was a very stressful drive as we got 300 miles into it my truck started to die. We were able to complete the 800 mile round trip in one day NYC to PA and back again. On the next day driving back up to Boston my truck finally died on the Mass Pike. A Horrendous experience but we all got home in one piece and thank my lucky stars as this time for some odd reason was the first trip I did not take Aloysius.
That would have been too much danger for me.
Being stuck on the side of a major highway with traffic doing 80 MPH and having to go quickly off the wayside into the woods to get help a 1/4 mile would have been too much for him.
The tow guy thought the machines might slip off when he hoisted the truck up to tow it but I had really tied these babies down and taped them up good since our experience with the top of the Duomatic blowing off on the highway.

The washer is the first 3 belt drive system and John & Tom tell me these were the only set ever made by Westinghouse where the tops were both porcelain enamel on the dryer and the washer.
The door ontop of the dryer is the lint screen and I also have the original owners manuals for these so I will scan some tidbits for you guys.
She used them right up until last March, her son bought them for her new in 1959 from a dealer in town and these are 1958 models. So they were showroom pieces before they were put into service.
