Being Florida,
many didn't leave. Bodies are turning up! Doctors wearing waders in a hospital.
Like when Harvey hit Houston, I'm sure my I.B.P.F. bodybuilder friends winter Fort Myers $500,000.00 Riviera golf club home is flooded. Drywall, tile, carpet, furniture, cabinery, appliances, everything will need replacing. She didn't like the Frigidaire built in appliances anyway, but that was what was there when they bought it in 2019. The maple cabinets and granite were nice. I'm sure I will see pics as soon as neighbors can return, go in and send her some.
My cousins were supposed to drive down to their Alva (east Ft. Myers) ground floor condo on the first, and take their grand kids to Disney.

We made it thru with really no issues to speak of, just some twigs and leaves from the trees and Spanish Moss here and there. But, we got lucky since the storm went into Ft Meyers/ Naples and not the Tampa Bay region. Officials here in Hernando County were telling people to evacuate low lying areas and manufactured homes county wide. We have a manufactured home and we stayed put this time, next time I think we wont because my other half was CRAZY and I could understand his fear. He could have won an Academy Award for best Drama Queen. I played it cool and was not going to let him get the best of me...it wasn't going to happen, nope! Next time we wont play this game of wait and see. By the time we decided to book a hotel room all the pet friendly hotels were booked solid and some of this hotels wont allow cats, dogs only which makes no sense. We never lost power either or the internet and cable or cell service. So we are fortunate...

Watch out in Hirnando Co. aka "Sinkhole alley"
When I lived near Gainesville a few years ago I looked around the areas for a potential property to buy. I def. wanted to steer clear of dangers and I learned Hernando co. is to be avoided.
I hope you stay safe and your home is in an area not in a flood plane nor in an area marked with subsoil issues.
