I moved into an apartment in a "bad water" zone with 30 years worth of mineral stains in the bowl. They resurfaced the tub and sink but you can't do that to porcelain. Even the stainless in the kitchen is stained.

Tried several things, like phosphoric acid and abrasives which did almost nothing.

I don't know what's in "The Works" cleaner ($2 US) but in 3 treatments it took EVERY stain and deposit away. The bowl GLEAMS. Not even a water spot.

You can pay twice as much for a bowl cleaner, but nothing could possibly work better.

Agreed. "The Works" is strong stuff but because of that, I reserve it for deep cleaning and use either Comet or Ajax cleanser for keeping the bowl clean between scrubings.

Yes, I use store-brand abrasive powder for routine care. It works fine for that but has absolutely zero impact upon 30-yr mineral deposits.

Caution with all such liquid cleaners, do NOT let it come in contact with skin. The bottle will always drool from the spout. Even the dribble from that can cause severe problems. Pay SUPREME attention when using chemicals of this potency.
