Hi Jeff -it's up to Sandy, but I think he is looking for something with some fancier external trim on both doors, but I'm not answering for him ... You're nice to offer!

man, this is one dirty looking combo - parts donor?
Magnavox TV-Hi-Fi console-price is TOO high for this-the picture tube on the TV-the front tube glass on the screen-its glue is rotting-hence the greenish yellow look on the screen.Too be worth the price being asked by the seller-the CRT needs to be replaced. The cabinet,TT,and Tuner amp are in very nice condition.Probably the amp caps will need replacing and cartridge-stylus in the TT might need replacing for best results.Hope the speakers aren't dried out.
You can fix those picture tubes, you have to take it out and take the safety glass off of it,and clean both and then put them back together. The pre 61modelsstill had the safety glass in the front of the TV.
Whirlaway - I just saw a YouTube video about that - the guy who had the same issue with his tv said he fixed many of those, even though he said, some people have some second thoughts about doing it. He didn't say what the objections were, but he said it wasn't a big deal, usually, and he's had much success.
If you mark all of the convergence yokes on the tube it should be easy and wear good safety goggles and gloves, its just the same as changing the same pic tube with the glass in front of it.Some really old sets really get alot o dirt between the glasses, you ever see them! Im talking about BW sets from the 40s and 50s,take off the glass and clean it and they look almost new.
The round jug set for 90 bucks-got one for FREE out of a TV shops dumpster-the thing worked despite the rotted pix tube outer screen cement.Never worked on these tubes-when a freind and I worked on them for a side hobby-just ordered a rebuilt tube and sent the "greened" one to the rebuilder-didn't try to fix these.Guess now you have to do them yourself-fewer CRT rebuilders out there.Handling CRTs TV's is always sort of scary-kinda like changing xenon bulbs in large film projectors!you donned the "garb" to protect you from flying glass if the tube or bulb blew!Yes,do remember those older sets with the safety glass front lens over the picture tube-you clean BOTH-and you can see the sets piucture again-and another bonus--You can turn the brightness and contrast back down!Saves the life of the tube!Oh-the TV I got for free along with others got stolen when I stored them at a radio stations transmitter site-my freinds got stolen,too-the radio station stuff was untouched-except for a Bogen PA amp used as a monitor amp.
Wood RCA Color Console Cable Ready TV - $25 (bethel park)
Tolivac - that greenish round crt needs a lens replacement (or is it referred to as the PVA? ) and drh4683( his YouTube "handle") shows how to replace it, with a technique that works well. I'm not sure I'd try it on a set I wanted and instead, do a practice run first on something less "keepsake".
When you consider how inexpensive or free some of the CRT TV sets are, if it's a nice set, it's hard to justify buying parts to fix an old set, unless it's the real vintage McCoys. The following set, for instance, for just $25.
(and I'm thinking of getting an RCA FMR-455W repaired...mm-mm-mm).
Real vintage "McCoy" TV's if they are all tubed ones-these can be EASIER to fix than later SS sets esp those that have mostly circuit boards and IC's.Never tried to fix the rotted bonding in pix tubes-glad some have tried it.In the older days I did do work on these-sent those tubes as "trade in" to the rebuilders-let them deal with it.Figured they could handle that better than I could-and you avoided some of the "dangers"-BUT since there are no more-at least that I know of-pix tube rebuilders-then you have to get adventuresome and fix the bonds on the screens yourself. At this point haven't had my hands-nor my friends that worked on them-in TV's for like over 20yrs!
