Reply #17: Gotta give the whipped Jell-O a try. I recall variations on this sort of thing from the '70s, although I believe Cool Whip was also involved.

Reply #18: I recall these condensed soup-based salads being all the rage for about 15 minutes when I was a tyke. Gonna take my chances with the Ham-Macaroni salad. If it's awful, I'll transfer it into a casserole dish, top it with some buttered bread crumbs, bake at 350 degrees for an hour or so and make what will probably be a decent hotdish of it.

Thanks for posting your new finds, Louie! I never fail to find something intriguing. Occasionally perverse, but still intriguing, lol.
 
My dad used to eat Bugles by the boxful. I get them very rarely.

My sister's mother-in-law made a gelatin salad that contained tuna, cream cheese, and celery. It may well have been this recipe, and was pretty good. All three of these recipes were good to serve in hot weather, as they were chilled.
