My A606 Maytag needs belts. I work in a parts store. Will good gates belts work as well as belts from an appliance parts store? It seems to have two springs to adjust the tension of the belts. Do they ever get weak? They look fine but don't seem to apply much pressure. who makes good water fill hoses? the ones in the big box stores are junk.

Maytag belts 211124 & 211125; motor glide kit 205000

Greetings:

Do not use automotive belts on a Maytag washer. The main drive belt is designed to slip when the motor starts for the spin cycle and is therefore made with a different covering/coating. I would also stick with OEM belts from Maytag or Whirlpool (FSP brand). The part numbers are:

Drive belt: 2-11125 (sometimes written as 211125)
Pump belt: 2-11124 (sometimes written as 211124)

You can get a 2 belt kit like the one shown in the Ebay link below that has both.

The motor carriage springs and glide wheels/blocks can also be replaced easily if need be:

Motor glide repair kit: 205000

Best regards on getting that Maytag going again.
