Ok.. The weather is wierd.... Thursday and Friday we had torrential rains, minor flooding and tons of tornados (one touched down within 5 miles of mom and another one about 15 miles from me)and winds... Today it's 70 degress and beautiful, tommrow it's supposed to rain.. Whats up with this? Has any one else experiend this screwey weather??? Now it's supposed to drop back to cold weather again.. GRRRR...

We keep getting these weird wind storms, about once every week or two. The wind is so strong it blows things into the street, sometimes the power goes out and you can barely walk. One day at work only one door was unlocked because the wind is so strong you can't get them open.

Other than when that happens, it was kind of cold the week before christmas, but other than that it's been just great. Generally sunny and between 65 and 70 during the day.

Its normally in the nineties here during the day

with 85% humidity, however this year, we've had balmy days in the low 80's with less than 50% humidity. So far its been a lovely summer, but very out of character.

The weather man is predicting the heat we hate to arrive in the next 10 days or so.

62 degrees in Syracuse, NY. 30 degrees above average. Lilac tree is starting to bud outside my bathroom window. I think it is the El Nino, which pounds the crap out of the West Coast(I lived there during one) which displaces the jet steam to the south for a while after it hits New Mexico and then it is pushed North when it hits the gulf stream. There is only so much energy on the globe. If Colorado is having record snowfall and the West Coast is having incredible rain and wind, then as weather moves west, the east is going to get a break.

Wet, wet, wet. Ranging from 50°Fs to 70°Fs in the last week. Dense fog several nights, can stand on the patio and SEE the mist wafting through. Must be a norther coming to blow this away, stalled somewhere in hell.

I bet you ain't sweatin' now! LOL

It was 76 in Houston yesterday, and felt like 21 in Dallas (which is really only 3 hours away, the way I drive)

I went over to another one of our offices from Downtown, and saw little flurries of snow.

We *might* get to stay home from work tommorrow seeing as it's suppose to sleet & ice. Yay! Either way, if there is even a HINT of ice, I am not getting out in it.

Hope everyone is staying warm, and safe!

ICE ICE ICE !!

ALL around us....Thank goodness for the Ozark Mountain range. IT held the cold back and it spilled around the range into eastern Oklahoma. Our temps stayed right above freezing through all the rain. 4.5 inches on saturday alone. Don't know what it was on Sunday. Now the precip. is moving out and the temps are beginning to drop. Supoosed to be in the 20's today and tonight. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Tom

You just can't beat the great weather here in sunny Florida. 77 right now and that's what it has been most days for a long time. We really could use a little of that rain.

Today's the day we're getting our first taste of winter with that ice storm that's been slowly moving its way up. It's just hovering on the freezing mark today, what's wet stays wet and what froze overnight is staying frozen. It's supposed to drop below freezing later this afternoon and stay for a week. Thankfully I don't really have to go out anywhere in the car and can stay home if it gets really icy. Hopefully none of the tree branches will come crashing down, they were showing that this morning on the Detroit news.

No ice yet, will be later tonight. 35°F earlier this morn. Car temp reported 38°F on way to office. Could be more or less at the moment. All my windows are having con-den-sa-tion. Noticed a PUDDLE on the window sill in utility room, getting close to running over. Checked all of them, all were wet, some had puddles. Shored them all up with towels. Heat pump was running a lot, but still cycling, maintaining a comfy 70°F. Be interesting to see what happens @ 3 AM tonight when it tries to recover from 60°F back to 70°F with no auxiliary. Shower this morn, tankless reported the initial incoming flow was 47°F, but ended at 64°F with fresh flow from the well. 102°F output, 0.9 GPM flow rate (I'm conservative, LOL), 18% of full output capacity.

32°F here right now...but the windchill makes it feel like 20°. It's supposed to get even COLDER through the week, which is good! Hard to believe it was 76°F outside on Saturday.

House thermostat(s) on 72°, but the fireplace and gas heaters in the bathrooms are helping. One of the heaters in the washhouse read 69° earlier this morning, but I swapped them out (put the more powerful heater in the main room) so we'll see what happens...

Was down to 23 here in Tucson last night. Got someone fixing broken outdoor pipes nows. Only up to 49 today and another freeze tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed that no more pipes will burst.

It's insane. It's been downright cold here too, in the 30s at night and even colder in the desert. Weird, but it is sunny and pretty and still far better than the alternative. Sooner or later the tide will turn and things will improve. We did have a great run through the holidays and after with 70s and 80s during the day regularly.
