Wow guys...I love all of this Convertible talk. My favorites too are the 1060, 1070,and 1076. I think that these are the best of the Convertible series as they looked the best and performed well. I do like the 4 position rug adjuster and it is quite easy to use with a flick of the toe. I find them very durable as I have used my 1070 for years. These all use the rear conversion tools which I have both sets and use them. The newer front conversion tools came out in 1977 with the new line of Convertibles that used the "new" type A top fill bag. This is where my interest drops off because they soon went to the plastic bases and were very noisy. I also enjoy the less expensive models that went with each of these "deluxe" models. All models 1010, 1020, and 1030 were in a color of green and lacked a headlight, zipper, and handle grip. I too detest that foreskin retainer. I much prefer the little "junior" belt retainer. Ever see one of the spring retainers off of a 60 series? They are known to fly off at the operator during a bag change! Thanks for this great thread on the Hoover cleaners! Oh my two cents...the Concept One was one of the best cleaning machines ever built by Hoover. That quadraflex agitator is one of the best in the business!
