Guess...

I went with Paul to get a few parts waiting for us south of the border and then we had to get more stuff at thrift stores near his place in Sherbrooke QC. Then we did fix a few things at his home while we were there. Paul first got something for his '63 GE WA-950X:

And then I got another $2 GE toaster at the thrift store (I'm not allowed to get vintage large GE appliances so I get semi-vintage small ones!).

Oh, and I also got a few NOS parts I had ordered for my favorite brand of appliances (some are visible on this picture...)

Then we did some minor electrical work at his home, changed an headlight on my truck and a few other things but we spent more time doing some reorganization of the laundry room!

We did install the suds-saving Kenmore near the laundry tub.

We also did some work on the ambient lighting...

With all these beautiful, mostly paired and illuminated machines, I told him he should probably get rid of the less interesting machines in his collection like this BOL washer that doesn't even have it's matching dryer... That would make some extra space for the next turquoise purchase with a lighted panel and I could even help him to get rid of it. Well... Maybe next time!

A bit tired after all that?!
;-)

Ah, I was puzzled by that when I first found this one! It's a rinse temperature control - you can set to warm or cold for all rinses. IIRC, models without this dial would always rinse in warm water.

Barcoboy, it was the Estrie-Aide store on Wellington South - it's worth the trip!

Right, I now need to find the linament for my aching back... LOL

OK that's what I was wondering. I was there a couple of days ago looking at large appliances, and they had only a couple of washing machines (way more dryers), but not one dishwasher! Was kind of disappointed. Guess it was probably bad timing.

You guys did a lot of fun washer activities! The washers all look great, Paul. I've not seen a vented Lady Kenmore washer before, must be a Canadian thing? LOL

Those are some rare parts you found, Phil. Have you tried any of the dispensers yet? The versions I've tried always shook the softener out in the wash.

Head to a warmer climate for a few days..

I just know ya'll need a break from the cold and since we have not had a Winter at all here.....also since I am about as mechanically inclined or handy as, nothing....Come stay with me in GA.

Great finds and great story you guys had....thanks for the share.

Frigilux

Right top control on the Maytag. That is the warm water cold water for the A700 machine. This was my moms first automatic washer.

Greg,

I haven't tried to use the dispensers yet. I have both styles that go on the 1-18 and I rarely add softener but I do use them for the pre-wash/wash with liquid detergent. I never measured if they loose any detergent during the pre-wash but there's definitely remaining detergent for the wash! The latest Frisbee-style used on the Rollermatics look similar to the first style used on 1-18 washers but it's not the same (see the two pictures).

I just tried to fit the fez-style dispenser on the agitator of my WDR-64 and the Agitub dispenser on my W3-224.
