Blue Rinse...Brassed Off
Talking of blue rinses Pete...yes there where a lot over here...and Champagne Pink for the Cheshire Set Wives, not so many now....
Have any of you seen the film "Brassed Off" (1996, Mark Herman), story of a local pit band, Maggie Thatchers government programme of closing down all the pits, and the real life action that took place all over the UK (and where I lived).
The wives of band members supported their husbands and players in the band, accompanying them to London for the Brass Band Finals.....COMPLETE with Neon Blue Rinses to match the bands uniform...
If you want a laugh, fab Brass Band Music, great acting and some of the best lines of UK Northern Humour....treat yourself
It shows the extremes people can go to support their partners etc....(not advocating blue rinses by the way...LOL)
Cheers, Mike
p.s.
I might be just a tad too passionate about this as I grew up in such a mining village and played in local brass bands from the age of 11 until recently. AND we all laughed soooooo much when the film came out as they had the same uniform as us....and yes I did wear that gold braid and played the big one...(tuba)....LOL
