badata, I remember "Eve of Destruction." It was kind of a folk protest song by a guy named Barry McGuire. I had the 45 when I was little; I think I still have it. Free Napster has it if you want to hear it.

Who is petula clark??? My aunt just laughs when i ask here.. But she gets an awful lot of mail and catalogs at my aunts house...

Petula Clark!!!!

is a British born singer and actress.

She was most popular here in the States during the 1960s-1970s.

Some of her hits: "Downtown," "I Know A Place," "Five O'Clock World."

She is a big favourite of mine.

Her voice is big, yet lilting.

In an 1970(?) tv special, she, a white woman, touched Harry Belafonte, a black man, on the arm, and caused a small storm of protest.

She is still performing, though doing more acting these days.

Like her friend, Julie Andrews, she did a lot of morale boosting entertaining during the Second World War.
