my 1968 harvest gold whirlpool Super Capacity 18 pound washer with a double duty super Surga later agitator. it came with the original surgilator but I had an extra double duty lying around so decided change it out to see how it would work. When I got this machine I had to totally restore mechanically working under it. The magic clean lint filter could not be saved and I could not find another one so I found parts Emmanuel filter on it. Not exactly what I wanted to do but I wanted to make it as operational as possible so had to make a few minor changes. Also previous owner destroy timer dial which took me forever to find a new one. After 11 years of searching I recently found one Thank God told electors!

Hey Smoochies, your washer did not have the original (27 gallon) washbasket Super SURGILATOR agitator? The one that has the 'higher' straight/ wavy-vanes...

yes it did come with the regular agitator in it the one that's in there now is just an extra double duty that I had laying around I will try reposting the videos again

If I am correct, the original tall Super Surgilator needs a tall post transmission....to which, if this was from 1968, a Double Duty version would not fit.......

1978 is more closer to it, since they used the same trannies for both size tubs.....both large and exlarge capacity agitators would work, not to mention several from the Kenmore lineup...

further more, the vids still don't work...get with the program.....wouldn't hurt to fill in your profile as well.....

you can also start a collection page, and post all of your machines there to share with everyone...you can check out other members collections as well....

I'll switch the agitator out and show you that it does work. And it does have the long post and shaft.the second link I posted of the machine running seems to work fine for me. But I'm also doing all this on a smartphone.

It's a LDA!!!

Hey Smoochies, why don't you have any 'money shots'---agitator in tub? Or, any pics of the agitators, the fun factors. Also, your video is 'private', I could not look at it. And last, please make some videos with the original Super SURGILATOR agitator, the high/long straight vanes seem to make a difference in the design oppose to the standard Surgilator agitator. Those vanes look like they give the extra large and large loads a thrashing. They're no videos of the LDA original SURGILATOR in action ANYWHERE!!!

Late 70s WP Washer Agitators

Are ALL the same on ALL full sized washers in the WP LDA and LFA models.

When we were selling these machines new we got a few complaints about washing performance in the 27 gallon machines, this is why WP came out with the Double-Duty-Super-Surglitor for the LHA 1980 machines.

Hey Smoochies, the video is still blocked and private. Just post the videos on YouTube and we can see them there. I'd like to download them to my computer...
