I saw a comedian on TV one night that made some comment on his parents having bought some off the wall record player for the kids- a Speed-Queen stereo. If Kelvinator made console sets, sign me up for one.

Battery powered, I wonder if this might of been a giveaway with a major appliance purchase? Ladies at work tell me that nagging kids have a lot of influence. Mom gets a new kelvinator with a complimentary 45 rpm record player. It's a WIN/WIN.

Similar situation: Hotpoint TV sets. Who DOESN'T have one of those in their collection? I certainly have my coral-and-white portable. Sure... they're rebadged GEs but who cares? A Hotpoint TV is just... fun.
