The dyson could handle duvets upto 13.5 tog as far as I remember.

Good questions, and a tough one!
My answers are based on giving mine enough time to establish that the repair would actually be viable for any normal type of usage. Time will tell!

A) I may contemplate it, if people were willing to send the drum unit to me then I would access it to see if it may last or be too far gone (the spiders).

B) I think really depends on the assessment of the drum assembly. Due to the size of the bearing and tightness, I don't have a decent size of extractor that would cut a lot of the time and effort out. However if there was demand then I would invest in one. It would probably be approx £85 in parts for the main bearing, main seal, and the inner bearings and seal.

D2D yes the instructions say
* The Dyson washing machine will wash most machine washable king size duvets up to 13.5 tog. (note: different manufacturers duvet sizes can vary under the same tog rating)
* If the duvet is over 10.5 tog, we do not recommend spinning it. If it is 10.5 tog or below, we recommend a maximum spin speed of 500rpm.

Oh well I spun my summer duvet at 1400rpm so that tested the bearings a little lol.
Shame the duvet wash did not go higher than 40c, would like a 60 on this.

I just managed to wash our 10 tog kingsize duvet in my Miele 6kg. When I say just, I washed it on delicate at 60deg ( high water level and 3 high rinses ) then ran it through extra rinses but kept having to open the door and re position before the spin. I would not try this again.

I used to wash all the duvets in the house when we had the dyson, they always went through a max spin cycle once the cycle had ended for quicker drying.

Even in the LG, the duvets were put through a seperate spin at 1400 once the standard 1000rpm on the duvet cycle is done.

Only the dyson CR02 allergy (silver model) had a 60 degrees duvet wash.

Dyson Cr01 - main pulley jammed

Hi Andyvivo,

I have dyson CR01. Hope you can help me, I'm in Brum.

My CR01 stopped sudenly, with code f11. I cannot remove main pulley wheel, its jammed on, and I cannot turn it either. Is it normally a tight fit or could the gearbox (behind it) be damaged preventing the pully coming off ? Any help welcome.

ps. Firmware is 205s. Was working fine before the fault.

hi guys i was just wondering where i would buy a replacment drum bearing for a cr01 i have looked everywhere :-(

You could try to get the old ones out, go to any kind of hardware store that sells bearings like these and get some with the same size. So you could "Upgrade" you washer with more resistant bearings.
But as Dyson stopped serviceing them you don't have any other chance, I guess.

Andy, having difficulty separating inner and outer drums, any help?
