Winter Warmer Meet & Vintage Keymatic Fix November 2019

Alas it had also blown the remaining resistor ( having ordered 10 of the right type but delivered the wrong Ohms ) so as this was the end of day two and no bank holiday the time flies and we leave it untill next time, new resistors ordered awaiting fitting, also the heater had blown continuity so there is a UK manufacturer who manufactures new heaters to shape and wattage of original for a reasonable fee thats being ordered as well . So...To Be Continued !!

Great

Thanks Mike for memorialising the weekend. It goes so quick and there were a lot of us this time. Thanks to Al who never stopped cooking. And for everyone else who made it a laugh ! I wonder if they’re as are any timer experts on here? Even though USA is different voltage we could maybe’s call in their expertise to see if we can fix it?

Richard

Thanks to Mike for documenting another of our legendary wash-ins!

A great weekend hosted by Al and attended by old and new friends

Let's hope someone knows a timer expert who can help with the Keymatic!

All this Keymatic lore - those programmers seems to be like an onion, you have to keep peeling off all the layers - its is almost as if the engineers deliberatley set out to create the most complex machine then could.

Thanks to Mike for documemtating another weekend and all those who came along - see you soon :)

Re; Corgi vehicles

I have a few, nothing with advertising, which makes models more collectable/valuable, usually, but my dad left me a 1/43 scale 70's Rolls Silver Shadow coupe' in silver with jewel headlights, opening bonnet, doors, boot, and folding seat backs. Excellent shape too. Although not a Corgi, but a Dinky, more so vintage, only fair condition though, a "pink" Austin Atlantique cabrio that needs painting. The rest are smaller scale. I only wish I still had all the Lesney Matchbox cars I had as a kid. The blue "Harry Potter" Ford Anglia, Greyhound bus, VW T1 or T2 van camper in blue, green Mercury Commuter station wagon, Opel Diplomat in gold, Lincoln Continental, 2 Ford Zephyr's, early, and later 60's, red Jaguar XKE, several "models of yesteryear" including the red 1911 Caddilac. I still have the green Sante Fe steam locomotive. Not yet so vimtage is a very sharp blue and black Hispano Suiza in 1/43 scale.

UK Nov 2019 meet at Als.

Again many thanks to Al for his kind and generous hospitality for hosting this event and for feeding us so well, and to Mike for his photographic and documentary skills.

This was the first time I had seen Al's new house extension lay out. Al, clearly, had given great thought to the project as the space has been very well planned to display his extensive collection not forgetting the kitchen layout which offers efficiency as well as pleasing aspect.

As always the company was friendly, enjoyable and informative.

OMG.... I well and truly look like my father these days, but I am just not worth spending thousands on plastic surgery and liposuction!!!

Regards to all, Walter, Newport, Shropshire, West Mids.

Thanks

To Al for his hospitality over the weekend its always good to get together at these events. And thanks to Mike for documenting it in these threads, to be able to go back and relive moments like this makes it even more special.

Winter Warmer Meet & Vintage Keymatic Fix November 2019

Hi Richard, Mark, Ian it would be grand if we find expertise for the timer, but am always impressed how discussion over the tea & biscuits have offered us solutions to many issues in the past !!

Walter always great to see and catch up with you, will get more vacs out next time !!

Winter Warmer Meet & Vintage Keymatic Fix November 2019

Hi Keith (Bradforwhite) Thanks, this is only one room, theres the first washroom in a stand alone outside of the house, and a vac room which is about to be extended, never mind the cupboard displays of small appliances, its al culmination of many collectors who through Alistair came together as collectors now great friends who made it all happen !! More to come...!!

Winter Warmer Meet & Vintage Keymatic Fix November 2019

Hi Mike (Vacerator) sounds an amazing collection of the minatures, I always wanted model cars and / or trains as akid but never got them, enjoyed playing with my friends who always had the latest steam locos...

Only started collecting these about 20 yrs ago still a few about, great when you see the originals trucks delivering the washer in old photographs !!

Winter Warmer Meet & Vintage Keymatic Fix November 2019

Evening Alan, wow, many thanks for your offer, have just responded to email, it still amazes me how some parts are still about , we are determined to get this model working fully again now it has its new paint job ..

Look forward to meeting up at Alistairs place the coming year to show you the hard work and pick your brains for the appliance knowledge !!

I smile every time I see one of these new elements with much lower wattages and wiring that thin it looks you could snap it compared to the keymatic heater which just gets on with the job !!

Cheers, Mike

Thank's Mike!, I am also liking your

photos of your collections. I'm also an Electrolux fan myself. I see you have a green canned ham vacuum. Is it branded Eureka, or Parnall? Same one my mom had when I was a tyke, with the "vibra-beat". Those heavy ball bearing motors run forever.
Sadly my dad must have trashed that one out after it was about 15 years old when the hose and accessories were worn out. However, I have both 1980 Brandywine color Eureka "rot-matic" power teams. The updated canned ham version with push button suction bleeders, and the rectangular shaped one with a dial bleeder.
