That duck-egg blue 'Hoovermatic Deluxe' looks very familiar indeed. Mum had one in/around 1969. Thermostatic heater control switch too, if I remember correctly.

In contrast, the photo also clearly shows the more basic standard 'Hoovermatic', with a simple 'Off-Motor-Off-Heat' rotary selector switch.

Apparently it wasn't a Bank Holiday in Scotland - but some businesses were still closed, because their head offices are in England. I think they make the rules up as they go along.

Wow Al, the house looks really wonderful and the wash house amazing. What a fabulous presentation of machines through the years. I've got the same radiator in my bathroom, they belt out some right heat.

Looking forward to coming down again to see you some time. I don't come on here much due to work commitments but hoping you are keeping well.
