That duck-egg blue 'Hoovermatic Deluxe' looks very familiar indeed. Mum had one in/around 1969. Thermostatic heater control switch too, if I remember correctly.
In contrast, the photo also clearly shows the more basic standard 'Hoovermatic', with a simple 'Off-Motor-Off-Heat' rotary selector switch.
Apparently it wasn't a Bank Holiday in Scotland - but some businesses were still closed, because their head offices are in England. I think they make the rules up as they go along.
