Ultimate Dream Dishwasher

Robert,
This is a real surprise. Of course I love it with a window and all even to this day should have windows. Some question as far as the water heating goes what temp does it heat to? And is the heating only for the final rinse? And would you actually need to turn the heater on awhile before you start the unit?

Hi Peter, the water heater isn't inside the dishwasher tub, its an external water heater tank that holds about six gallons of water and keeps the water at 175F to 180F, 24 hours of the day ready at any time to wash dishes! If you look at the 6th picture I posted above at the top of this thread you can see the water tank at the back/lower left hand corner of the machine.

You have a gorgeous dishwasher there! Good luck on the restoration!

Memories...

As others have said, seeing that machine sure brings back memories for me too. I remember how the water used to kind of spit through the holes on the top as the machine was filling. It would eventually fill the window to the point of being hard to see what was going on inside but to a child with an interest like mine, it was still cool to watch.

I remember that big knob very well. I used to push a chair up to the counter, push and turn the dial and climb up to watch. It used to drive my Mother nuts.

We had the electric sink model.

WOW!

As a fellow vintage DW fanatic my hat is off to you. The speckled tub almost matches my '57 Kenmore DW tub. Can't wait to see some action footage. Congrats.
