Don't know about you, but I've been careless with the former DDD lately because everything is now available permanently from the Ephemera library, an insurance policy for reading in the long cold winter ahead. So I haven't been paying attention.
About 5 years ago Greg was doing his annual July 4th Scanathon and a page from an old Sears Catalog showed a small drawing of a Spray rinsing wringer--just the wringer--for a Visimatic. Had never seen nor heard of such a miracle before or since. The image has stuck in the giant washer part of my brain for 5 years, hardly expecting to hear any more news, although hoping, searching, and dreaming regularly about it.
UNTIL........
Robert scanned a Blackstone brochure the other day, showing in vivid color and giant photography a 1958 Blackstone with a spectacular wringer that not only sprays, but fills the tub as well. There are more details, but I wanted to get this up in case you missed it, like I nearly did.
Robert where the heck did you find this? Who knew Blackstone one-upped Kenmore! This one has a valve and a large control handle, OFF, FILL, RINSE. A large cutaway pic shows each stunning detail, along wih the hidden fill faucet. Moreover, there is a hose under the wringer to take the cold or warm rinse water away so as not to dilute the precious hot washing liquors.
Amazing and Stunning, I swear it. Right out of the Dream Machine Factory.
Robert, I want to thank your sweet butt for this once-in-a-lifetime find.....in public...... and urge our friends to check it out so we can all gab about it, and wonder how we'll ever find one.
