Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I actually have 2 favorites. My current favorite is the Speed Queen. The other was a Maytag that had in small writing on it the word Super. I had it about 16 years I believe.

My LG Tromm. Model number WM8000HWA.  AND it's a tie. I'm also thrilled with my WT1101CW. Both can wash HUGE loads of wash and do outstanding work getting my laundry not only clean but smelling fresh every time whether I hang them on the line or dry them in the dryer.  The only stain I couldn't remove is rust on a T-shirt of Taylor's that was set in from him washing it without pretreatment in some Clorox. The bleach set the now permanent stain. Everything else from pot residue on my shorts from cleaning my bowls to strawberry stains from making jam. I can wash a 9'X24" hall runner in either one getting excellent results. The 8000 model takes all three at one time and can use its Sanitary setting to get out the ground in dirt.

Has to be my Bosch Serie 6.

Really is a lovely machine. Build quality, ease of use, quietness and performance are just brilliant.

I wouldn't have settled for anything inferior to what I thought was the best.

Compared to other mdoels from LG, Samsung and even Miele, my Bosch is one of the quietest, even compared to more expensive models, despite the fact some of those have an out skin door.

Also, the Bosch is around £18 cheaper per year to run than the LG and Samsung models I compared, despite the fact they all have A+++ rating with inverter motors.

Love the performance of the bosch and the clothes come out only slightly damp.

The fit and finish is beautiful and the door is incredible solid.

I also love Bosch products. It seems to be a trend with most of their products that they are well designed, well made and functional.

Electrolux WaveTouch

Well after 19 years with my Whirlpool direct drive top load set, I'm taking delivery of my dream machine (Electrolux WaveTouch) washer and matching dryer on 5/28/15.
Wish me luck.

I purched it from a mom & pop store. I didn't want to deal with any big box store. The owner is personally going to reverse the doors (I have a backwards set up, dryer left of the washer) and install it with anohter employee.

I can hardly wait.

Asko

of course!  I don't need those big behemoths on the market here, besides they won't fit in my space.  And....Asko's will rinse up to 7 times and heat up to 205F!!  The reliability of the new ones remains to be seen....quality isn't what it used to be.

I love Miele machines and pretty keen on LG. But the price of £269 I got my Hotpoint Smart 9kg and it's wonderfully quiet when washing with the inverter motor and everything clicks with a nice clunk sound (love the rotating detergent drawer) and the door seal is nice and thick. Even better then the Zanussi Jetsystem ZWH7122J that I got in 2012 that's still at my parents place. Never would have considered an Indesit/Hotpoint but pleased I chose it.

Favorite modern washer would be an LG. Favorite Washer would be a SQ, but they are not modern, as there cycles/programs seem to be very dated.

Now if SQ and LG could build a machine together, we have a Modern long lasting washer.

I only mention this because my friend David just got a SQ FL with digital readout. Last week his LG blew up at age 6. He called me and asked what I thought would be a machine that would last. I told him the SQ's are made here and tested to 25k cycles. He has more money than time, and bought a SQ. I helped him install and test. He's ok with the SQ but mention his LG was better at cleaning, and more silent.

We noticed the wash was no where near as dry than they were with the LG(his or mine). It's not bad, and he wants to keep it. For $2k. he was expecting a bit more, like better performance than the LG.

I'm glad I witness this for myself, as I was real hot to buy a SQ. Because of our findings, I let the 15 day return on my LG lapse(today) and kept my LG.

I'm jealous

of your Calypso DADoES!! I saw a like new set on CL and of course didn't act fast enough. They are such cool machines! I love your videos of it.

My all time favourite is my Miele W5965WPS SteamCare washing machine. I have had many other Miele models and this takes the prize. The steam function is fantastic.

Would probably be my Bosch Classixx set. Two brilliant machines, with excellent Bosch build quality, all for Beko money!

However my dream machine would be a Bosch Serie 8/Logixx.

Mielerod69

That Miele washer looks fantastic. I always loved the light on the dial! Very distinctive and the door oozes quality.

Candy

GrandO Vita / SimplyFi. Sutrdier, and undoubtedly washes and rinses better than most of the machines I used!

I only wish mine was quieter during spin like their full size models, but I guess you can't have it all in a slim machine :P

Gosh -

I really don't know, because since my washer is a little over 10 yrs old, it's not modern anymore, and still working.....But if the new Duets/Maytags are anything like the one I've had the past ten years, I'd say Duet....But I think LG's look really cool too.

Looking at the pics, I swear you guys in Europe are so LUCKY! The washers there look so much cooler than they do here! (at least to me)

I'll double the Bosch praise

Just recently I have seen the Vario Maxx aka the Vario Perfect Series in operation. Everybody knows that stainless steel outer tubs are only made by Miele now, so when coming down to more economic models, Bosch/Siemens Vario series seem best choice to me if you can get along with a plastic outer tub.
Hey, that machine was on 650 rpm ramping up and I could not hear a thing, balancing was close to perfect, even later on 1400 rpm the amplitude of the tub/basket assembly was no more than 10 mm (less than half an inch) and working noises were close to being unheard of. (Just a faint whine of the motor, this one sound insulated by some foam padding).

AND: No waisting time, the water valve would even open upon the drum coasting down. No waiting until the tachometric magnet would give its ok due to "0 rpm".
Just jumping through all the necessary steps, no undue sounds, a vast drum volume ( I find them a good price-value choice of materials. Parts to be had for some more decades they say. I do trust Bosch on that one.

I will recommend this one (a model of this series, that is - to be had from 5 to 10 kg a load) to my sister, her running a multiple loads a day for a commercial business.
To be thrifty yet trustful, go Bosch. (I say, Siemens being the same, as it is one corp. by now.)

Get a Vario something (Vario speed, Vario perfect, v. series, Maxx, all varios will do).
