    Gas Dryers vs Electric Dryers?

I've had a gas dryer in the past, and currently have electric, and if I had the ability to choose - I'd pick gas again. Never had any problems with smells or yellowing (I would think that would be a case of bad design or poor venting), and everything came out perfect w/o being over-dried. Plus...

    Miele Dishwasher

Lemi-shine is pretty much concentrated citric acid. The old "Tang" trick to clean your dishwasher also relies on the citric acid in it to do the work. We have rock-hard water here in TN and Lemi-shine always gets all the filmy buildup off the DW itself and the glasses / SS flatware if it has...

    Objective laundy test!

I pretreat all the oil stains I can find with the Tide pre-treater or Persil Color Gel. I haven't found any detergent that can get them out first time & every time without pretreating. And, having two small kids that occasionally use their shirts as napkins, we get a lot of this kind of stain.

    Peanut Butter

Peanut allergy treatment Dave, Saw an article the other day (version below) saying they may have made a breakthrough in the treatment of at least peanut allergies, and potentially a whole range of food allergies. As someone who has one kid with a shellfish allergy and the other with a...

    The newest appliances from Miele:

Sehr interessant!! The "solar powered" dryer reminds me of commercial style equipment that uses steam as the heat source for the dryer, but in this case they are using solar hot water and a condenser style dryer cycle... if I'm reading it correctly?? It also sounds like it can be integrated...

    MacBook Pro Help

+1 for Airport Utility - if it is working directly connected to the DSL box then the Airport Extreme is the culprit, and with that program you can at least start to determine what's gone wrong. Does the AE have another ethernet port, not the WAN port but another hardwired port? If so, does...

The whole "Temple of Technology" design aesthetic of the pictures echoes today in the Apple stores, doesn't it?

    miele w3033 from 120 to 240 volts

Actually, minor correction - the Little Giant runs at 208v, not 240v oddly enough. But still boil-wash capable.

    miele w3033 from 120 to 240 volts

Another alternative, if you don't already have a W3033, is to get a Little Giant (PW6065). They are quite spendy ($4k US$ vs. $2K for the W3033) but they come already wired for 240v, can do a 95C boil wash and can be had in any color you want as long as it is stainless steel! With those you'd...

    Confessions of a Phosphate addict.

Since I switched to the new Ultra Tide (& Ultra Tide w/ Bleach) for our laundry I haven't felt the need to add STPP to our washer any more - everything seems to come out clean and well rinsed on its own. No such luck with the dishwasher however. I've tried both the Cascade pacs and the Finish...

Black Walnut Brown Sugar Pound Cake

We just made a gluten & dairy free version this past weekend, and it turned out excellent! The frosting especially was wonderful, albeit sugar-coma inducing. Thanks again for sharing the recipe!
