Hello everybody. I am interested about Cascade complete. What was so great about this product? Did cascade always have a safety cap or did they use a flip cap at one time? What were the scents of Cascade complete when they first came out with that product? I am a big fan of the orange scent. When did cascade come out with the citrus breeze scent? When did Cascade come out with their first rinse aid? Is is true that Cascade came out with crystal clear with shine shield rinse aid in 2004 or did it come out years earlier? Please explain. Thank you.

A lot of questions :)

I guess you mean the gel version? I only have used the gel version of Cascade Complete once, when the kind friends who gave me my dishwasher in 2005 broght it here. It worked well, but I don't really like gel dishwashing detergent, and haven't bought it since. I like the Complete packets, and have purchased them a couple of times, but I have several bags of Ajax and Kroger home sense to use up..... As for the safety cap on the gel bottle? This is just my opinion, I think it's a "Cover Your Behind" move on Procter & Gsmble's part. The powder does not have a safety closure, nor do the packets.......

I've used the Cascade rinse agent, and it, too, works well, and is a little less expensive, at least here, than Jet Dry. I don't remember when it was introduced, however.

I wish I could give you more definite answers, but this is what I know.

PS: In my water, in my machine, rinse aid is essential for good drying, especially with the heating element off.

Cascade Complete was launched in 2001 as powder, gel and tablet formats. In commercials the slogan was "Next time skip the sink", implying the product was strong enough to clean the toughest soils without the need for pre-rinsing.

Cascade Complete's claim to fame was the cocktail of enzymes that worked on removing soils better than chlorine bleach based dishwasher detergents. Hence the famous commercial of a woman putting a freshly iced cake into her dishwasher and only a clean platter emerging. The original scents were lemon/citrus, Fresh Scent, and something else (Melon?).

Cascade introduced a separate rinse agent in 2003 or 2004. Guess for no other reason than complete the brand line and go up against Jet Dry/Finish.

Cascade Complete is now also billed as "All in One"; meaning it contains in rinse agent as well. This is a play on marketing since Cascade gong back years has had wetting agents. Those chemicals provided the "sheeting action" Cascade advertised that would fight spots on one's dishes and glassware.

The first incarnations of CC also touted the benefits of using a peroxide based bleaching system as opposed to chlorine (the latter in not compatible with enzymes). I remember the commercials showing various housewives pulling all sorts of faces as they opened their dishwashers in the morning and were hit with the smell of chlorine bleach.

cascade complete and their rinse aid

I believe it was mellon blossom. When did Cascade Complete come out in the orange scent (citrus breeze?) Did Cascade always come in a jug with a safety cap or did they use a flip top cap. I remember when Cascade first came out with their sister rinse aid in 2003 if I'm correct. Their crystal clear formula came out in 2004. Is this true? Was JetDry the only brand of rinse aid before Cascade came out with their own or was it a pure rinse formula? How does Cascade pure rinse formula work? Is it a detergent or rinse aid?

I don't know what it was about Cascade but after using it almost exclusively for as long as I can remember, it started to leave a white film all over my dishes. Maybe after the phosphates were removed? I'm not sure but I read good things about Electrasol (now Finish) and started using that. First time the white film was gone. I've been sold on it ever since. I was using the tabs, now I just buy the powder and use a rinse aid. It works flawlessly. I should try Cascade again though, see how it performs.

Cascade complete citrus breeze scent and cap type

What year did Cascade complete come in their orange/citrus breeze scent? Did they always use a safety cap or did they have a flip top at one time? I always use the Cascade complete in the orange scent citrus breeze with the companion rinse aid.

cascade complete pack parts

I don't mean to ask this stupid question, but I understand that the Cascade Complete packs have powder and gel in them. Which part is the rinse aid and which is the dawn? I have the citrus breeze variety and I'm curious of what each part does. I was under the impression that the gel was to take on greasy stains and as a finishing rinse and the powder was designed to tackle the caked on baked on stuff. Please clarify. Am I correct or am I missing something?
