I think I remember a laundry detergent by that name in the 50s and 60s in the US. I am not sure, but I think it came with towels and washcloths depending on the size that you bought. We did not buy it, but I remember asking mom about the "free" textiles. Her opinion of the idea was even less than coldly dismissive.

My mom tried it in the 1950's. The towels were not the best and each item, depending on the size of the box was packed in a cardboard box in the main box. Two boxes and the one that held the towel etc. took up a great deal of space; not much detergent for what you got.

Have seen the US vintage stuff popping out on ebay at times, is one of those detergent that lasted short on market, it is not unusual, actually the opposite to see older totally or almost forgotten brands being later introduced in other countries both from same companies or others that bought the license to use the name for one country .... the latest example is Bold that in the US was discontinued but that is still sold in UK and Italy (even though with the name Bolt, according to italian pronunce, it is not anymore the same thing of the UK one, it used to, but it was changed to become the equivalent of what Gain is the US as the softener included thing didn't work over here).
Anyway I don't recall the manufacturer of the old US Breeze though. Do someone remember it?
Breeze brand is still a brand of detergent in some countries produced by unilever, in parts of asia and in America continent in islands like Jamaica, Trinidad, Anguilla and pretty much all the Carribean area, and it is their version for what elsewhere is otherwise called OMO.
I have ordered not many time ago some packets of the stuff from Jamaica, one regular and others lemon scented which I love, they have still to come...
But they promise well, they're high sudsing detergents....

So I remembered correctly. The circuits are not all burned out nor are all the fuses blown. This is good news on a Wednesday morning.

There was something that came in a cloth bag that had a towel sewed onto the bottom, maybe in the actual bottom seam, but I don't remember if it was detergent or a 25# sack of flour. I just remember the stack of cloth bags and the towels hanging off the end of them.

Only once remember us using Breeze. Mom didn't like how it did on the laundry, so we used it up for other cleaning. The box we got came with a floral pattern washcloth, which started out thin, and was nearly threadbare after a couple years. These linens had to be Cannon's absolute lowest quality product.

Trend

If I remember right, trend also came with a freebie of some sort. I believe it was a paper thin bath towel as well. correct me if I'm wrong.
hugs,
David

I think the Trinidad Breeze is the same as Jamaican one.....
I am looking forward to them, actually I have ordered from the same shop this:
Breeze Multi active regular
Breeze Lemon
Ariel Lemon
Sudsil color
Sudsil lemon
They also have a version of Purex in a bag I have never seen before, not sure it being same formula of US "all machines" one, perhaps it is a high foam as it doesn't mention anything, I don't see low foam stuff selling well down there, did not order it though as am not particularly thrilled by Henkel stuff usually....

Sudsil someway got my curiosity.....I have also found an old commercial that may potentially be considered "creepy"..

Yes. We used Breeze in our Easy Rivera automatic with the Spirolator and white porcelain solid tub. The bigger the box,the larger the towel. Made by Cannon, they came in a separate cardboard box. We replaced the Easy with VB a Lady Kenmore gas combination washer dryer. With that great machine,we used either All or Dash low suds formulas and Final Touch fabric softener.
