1. Guys, there was no blood. And be assured, I'm not "into" blood and gore. I don't mind killing IF I HAVE to, but I prefer not. In fact, whenever I can help a creature to live, I do. Every time I mow the grass I happen upon at least 4 frogs/toads. I always stop the mower and carefully pick them up and take them to a place where I know they won't get in the way and gently let them go. Same with spiders. If I find a spider in the house, usually I will pick it up and take outside. We need these spiders. And bees. I had a bubble bee inside the other day, at the window, trying to get out. I opened the window and tried to wave him in the direction out, and he/she/it went.
2. This morning I went out and was mildly disappointed for 2 reasons. Chippee was still there,
sleeping in the grass. And, a cat, dog, raccoon, or petite person with restricted rectum, left a biodegradable "present" very near my door. This I really don't need. It's the second one in the month, though the other was more in the middle of the yard.
3. Trap reset. You don't want to get your fingers stuck in this. Unlike a snap mouse trap, these can break a finger. If Alvin's friends smite revenge..... well, let's just say, they better not. First the trap could back fire when their moving it. (tee HEE HEE) And I'm already so angry that these Chippees's got a recording contract...... I mean I can sing as good as a chipmunk. Why not me ?!
If those chippees mess with me.... I, I, ..... let's just say I'm so angry..... I could K-I-L-L
!
4. Checked out the foundation. Found more potential holes where they've been getting in. From our vantage point, 6' up, we don't often consider this, but you have to get down to their height and see where they can enter. I need to patch and fill these holes. I put a brick in a hole last week, where I knew I saw them enter before.
5. And look at my potted plants. Some had flower buds and were just ready to bloom. I can guess which singing vermin ate those. Something even took nibbles out of my Irish plant that's sprouting new leaves.
