Amtrak rocks!

OMG I LOVE trains. We have Metro-link here, very limited but still fun. Your city looks awesome, thanks for the peep.

Nice Pix!

Wish you had one of my favorites, the PSFS building. Love that 50s retro look. I think it's now actually something else, but they decidedd to leave the unique sign up because it was Phila's first skyscraper.

Always enjoy visiting the City of Brotherly Love >smirk<

I used to cop out of high school and either pay to ride the metroliner to Philly or hop the freight cars to get there. It took around 90 minutes and I'd go to Hunting Park Avenue to visit the guys at FRIGIDAIRE SALES CORPORATION and had lunch with George Ferill, the vice president of the company. I began writing letters and he was the one who wrote me back sending me promo pens, pencils, pocket protectors and note pads that had FRIGIDAIRE all over them. One day while there,I had an epileptic sezure and wound up having to go to the local ER.My Dad had to drive all the way to Philly to come get me and he was furious! I was grounded for two weeks. But,George called me and sent me the top secret (it wasn't going to hit the market for another 7 months)info on the new Touch-N-cook range!By the time it hit the market,I knew everything about it and went to local dealerships to play with the display models. The dealers didn't mind and were real surprised how much I knew already.I've had a few of them and wish they had kept them going.

Like a mini vacation

Very cool pictures, Darren! Made me want to come visit!!
The background music is perfect, too!!

"mmmmm pretzels" says Homer Simpson

Love #23 of the blue lights, looks like a metallic ladder from the future, and the stunned guy coming out of the Pretzel Factor--fabulous. What a neat lookin' city.
Have never been there, be great to see it some time. Was the movie Philadelphia actually shot there ? Any other well-known movies. Thanks for the tour, Darren.

The Septa is fun

I rode it a few times to visit my cousins in Ambler. I remember having to take 2 trains. One from the airport to the station (where you were at) and then another one going out. It's mostly tunnel until you get out from downtown, then it's elevated and then surface level.

We never had any of those in New Orleans, just buses.

Hey guy's thanks for all of your comments !
After i posted this i was not feeling...
to well so it got worst found out that i have a major FLU eeek, so i had fevers & chills for six day's in a row so forgive me for not posting back in time you really don't even want to look at anything when your under the weather lol.

Rick-The best cheese steaks are not the staple GENO'S OR PAT STEAKS....
we think the following are the best a real philly steak...
1.Tony luke's a real south philly cheese steak.

2. My favorite place DALESSANDROS non greasy , the best american cheese ever
and taste you have to stay outside sometimes it is so small and it gets very crowded on the weekends and it is down the street where my brother leaves.
Another good mention is ( Chubby's ) across the St from Dalessandro's the are very good if you like double meat sandwiches they are a dueling competition business the fries are the best comes in two size cups you just cant stop eating them.

3.Combo's steaks in old city near South St.

Terry & mike- The pretzels are the best here i have to say... that we get so spoiled here that people self pick there pretzels, I like the end ones that are slightly burnt yaa a little crunchy but soft.
They are three pretzels recipe's type's which we can talk later about.
Mike Philadelphia was filmed here as well as...
Fallen
Six sense
The village
blowout
And of course... Rocky..the series to name a few.

Keith -I love trains as well i would like to ride on the ACELA train they go about 125 to 130 mph now but can go much higher when they get the tracks in alignment better, my dream is to get on a TCV now your talking lol.

Charles-The PSFS sign is no longer there the city is changing drastically since our new mayor is in town that is one thing that was good for the city now about the rest is something else.

Sam- Wannamakers is now Macy's but still has the organ and has the famous
Christmas light & organ show.

Laundromat- That is a great story it just show's you what you would do for machines and your passion thanks.

Qsd-Dan - I have something for your Maytags E-mail me.

Jasonl -Ambler is a very nice town i have a have friends who leave there...
and not only does the blue line elevates, the Trolly subway surface cars are underground and comes to a surface for west philly.

A little green... Happy belated St.Patty's day...
