"Quieter than a Rolls Royce"

.......or in my neck of the woods.

You can take the boy out of Brooklyn, but you can't take Brooklyn out of the boy.

Here is one that all of you would expect from me. It's from game-show of yesteryear.....
What is a body part that is 6 to 8 inches long..and the Greek word for it means all-meat?

"Clean your rugs this afternoon, entertain guests tonight!"

was Glory by Johnsons Wax.

Dang, that "bake or roast or stew" is driving me crazy, 'cause I know it, I just can't THINK of it!

I had hoped this thread would be linear, but it doesn't look like that's the way it's turning out, so here's a new rule:

Everyone just keep blurting out ad lines and answer them at random!

Woo hoo! Anarchy!

Here's another one: "Built with integrity, backed by service."

well,

I am trying to remember this, was not what popped into my mind,,,,, but I think it was the pancreas (sp?)

We wouldn't want Veg to go crazy....

Whether you bake or boil or stew, a Frigidaire kitchen does it all for you!

Don't feel bad - it's a pretty obscure reference from an old Motorama promotional film called "Designed for Dreaming" - but I have used it several times in my postings.

But as to what is driving ME crazy: who's tagline was "With bluing for extra whiteness"? John keeps saying it was Bo-Peep Bleach, but that doesn't sound right to me.

Yep--bluing for extra whiteness was indeed Final Touch

"How did you get Tom's tennis shorts so white?"

"Final Touch fabric softener."

"I didn't ask how you got them soft, I asked how you got them white."

"Final Touch fabric softener--with bluing for extra whiteness!"

Then the gals would stop fighting and settle down to discussing laundry.

Dang, I knew I had heard that bake-roast-stew line somewhere! I LOVE "Design for Living".

Nobody gonna take a stab at the "integrity/service" thing? Come on guys. Bet Rick knows it.

Final Touch!

That's it! Thank you!!

btw, "Design for Dreaming" can be viewed at archive.org. There's another motorama film at that site that is pretty creepy called "A touch of Magic", but at least it has a Flair in it - and an amazing house ;-)

But back to our topic:

"She's Married, she's happy, she drives a ___________"

She drives a Chevrolet, of course.

Nobody seems to realize that the reason she's happy is that she drinks, and fools around with the pool boy, but apparently the boys at Chevrolet didn't think it necessary to divulge that little bit of information.

New one:

"With ______, you never looked so good."
