Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I had the JetClean from 1999

This machine could be loaded like you show your Bobload, If you could get the door closed it would wash it. And it was quiet.

thats funny

It kills me when I see people pre wash it is not necessary if loaded correctly. Just think about how the dishes will get cleaned and you should be fine.

My partner's family (mother and 3 sisters) all have dishwashers in their homes. I have tried and tried to tell them that pre-washing is not necessary and that it really is just a waste of water but they refuse to listen. When I am at any of their homes and helping to clean up, I refuse to pre-wash so the dishes I load in the dishwasher are dirty and the ones they put in are almost clean. When they are at our home, I scold them if I see any of them rinsing a dish/glass before it goes in the dishwasher.

My Aunt will wash, sanatize and dry a dish before puttin it in the dishwasher. I told her after she went through all that just put it in the cabinet.
Her answer "I want to make sure it's clean"

Now I feel the purpose of the dishwasher is to wash the dishes. if I have to wash them first, or after then I don't need it. Which is why the Frigidaire DW that was in my house when I bought it is now in the corner of the garage.

Oh it used to just kill me to watch my aunt wash everything.
She would only put washed plates, glasses, mugs, silverware, the very odd platter.
She would then run the dishwasher half full on the normal cycle, while washing a sink full of pots, serving pieces, plastic, wine glasses, you name it. The dishwasher was done before she was.Where was the savings in that?

an update. got the machine I wanted for years :)

hi again all. In the last few weeks since I posted this, moved into a new apartment, new job, and space to start collecting a couple of machines. so...first I got a regency Kitchenaid Portable. Incredible at cleaning, but damn I miss being able to load a machine full like I tend to do. So...while looking in Craigslist, I saw an ad for a wu203 Maytag belt Drive dishwasher..called them, and they were nice enough to deliver, total cost for it was 60 bucks, inside is perfect, no rust on the racks. Only problem was that the person that removed the machine from the previous kitchen pulled every wire out of the motor and motor control block, with help from a couple of people on here, I have managed to rewire and get the machine whirring like it is supposed to. Now, my only problem is its a built in, and my strata wont allow anyone (even the manager) to install one into the kitchen. So...I built another base cabinet yesterday for it, slid the machine in, and retired the Regency (for the time being, Roberts screaming pink with window is pretty inspiring to say the least.) Will be connecting it up this week, hopefully before our wedding on Saturday, so that when we have the luncheon here at the apartment we have someplace to wash up the dishes when everyone leaves. Its the same Tag that I talked my parents into buying in the early 80's, wanted another like this for some time, always loved the racking in them and the way they always got my stuff clean, no matter what I put into it.
Will add photos when I get the last of the finishing touches on the cabinet and water and drain hooked up into it. And..there is another JetClean machine waiting for me to pick up this coming weekend, as well as a OTR micro, 75 for the pair.good thing I have a big storage locker here, gonna be fun switching machines out when I feel the urge again

these "random tower" maytags always fascinated me in how well they cleaned. Our Best Buy always had a clear running cube and the water action out of that center tower looked dismal. But we had friends and relatives that had these machines, and they were flawless performers.....amazing.

not a random tower

the WU203 isnt the random tower, its the kind that has four jet holes at the top that are of different sizes, one large, and three smaller that are in different heights on the end of the wash tower post. When I orverrode the door interlock (used to do that as a kid to piss mom off, she would open the door and the machine would still be running) I got a heck of a blast from the tower.
Rich and I ran three loads in it yesterday after the wedding, everything came out clean, but will be needing a new belt for it, looks like reliable parts will get to see me and get more of my money this week, lol

yeah i know....I'm talking about the machine that is at the beginning of this post.
That's the JetAction 22 random tower.

Rich, looks like half those dishes were either stolen or inherited. What's up? All kiddin' aside...I was never interested in dishwashers until I got to this site. Maybe because we rarely ran ours as I was growing up. I remember ours being brown in color. That's about all. I don't think we ran it often because it didn't work as good as Mom wanted or something like that. I have scrapped out a lot of nice looking dishwashers that most likely worked fine. From what I have seen, it doesn't look like there is too much to working on one if one has the parts to make replacements. I may be in for a rude awakening though~
