Miss California...our poor sweet little Carrie

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Hmm,

Well, if she does have to give her, um, endowments back, maybe the price of silicone caulking will fall again.

Or, here's an idea. She could run as Caribu Barbie's Secretary of Dumb Blondes...

Sheesh - now if only that stupid queen Perez Hilton would disappear alongside her, we could just forget the whole thing.

Until then, here's a shot of another talentless-good looking "star" with a much better disposition waving bye-bye:

Well, I didn't mean to detour this thread. But yes, I would love it if OSH was the independent chain it used to be. They had the best, most complete industrial department and if you couldn't find something at their store, it didn't exist. The store I go to is I think still referred to as the "main" store, it's the new and improved "original" store that moved to larger digs back in the 40's. They're right by the tracks and for many years had a large green boxcar with OSH logo on it parked by their yard as a proud display.

We have two new Lowe's here and so far they're great stores to shop at. I hate to abandon OSH. I heard Sears wants to unload them. Maybe things will improve once that happens.

More developments...

...Well, it seems to have dawned on Carrie what a force she unleashed:

"Prejean told Matt Lauer on NBC'S "Today" show Friday that she "absolutely" had been dethroned because of the comment, when she said marriage should be between a man and a woman."

But now, the replacement Miss California is getting into the act:

"New Miss California: Marriage between man, woman
Tami Farrell: 'The right thing to do is let the voters decide'"

Human Rights

Are not decided by voters. They are endemic to a just society.

If my rights to human status as a gay man are subject to majority rule, then the rights of every other minority group are, too.

If you slice it thinly enough, everyone belongs to a minority group of some sort.

This whole discussion on "granting" us the "right" to marry is predicated on a perversion of justice. We already have the right, what is needed is for the christianists to take their hateful oppression, fold it into sharp corners and shove it up their asses.

I think all organized religions practicing in the U.S.(accepting money as a non profit) should contribute to the tax base. Why is that never on the table? They have had a "bail-out" for an awfully long time.

Wow Keven, that's the most succinct and eloquent summation of this issue I've ever read. You're exactly correct: we've always had the right to marry, the only question being debated now is state recognition of our marriages.

Every day more people realize that the right to marry the person you choose must qualify as a fundamental human right, and if it doesn't, no other right can possibly qualify. And as this happens, efforts to keep us from receiving this right are simply evaporating.

We may suffer temporary setbacks, but nearly everyone I've talked to, even many people in the "defense of marriage" movement, acknowledge state recognition of same-sex marriage is an eventuality.

I agree about organized religion needing to pony up their fair share. They've had a free ride for far too long. The Catholic church is by far the most capable of paying their way. The wealth of a State like the Vatican when based on geographic area has got to be the highest on the planet. They can absolutely afford to pay taxes. These high and mighty jokers routinely let churches and schools crumble and advise their parishoners to raise the money to fix them. There are not more despicable miserly heads of state anywhere else in the world, and they are laughing all the way to the bank while they mislead millions upon millions of followers with their mumbo jumbo about eternal life. A taxable venture if their ever was one.

Don't even get me started on the bad hair televangelists and their ilk.

Just a note: Catholics are what they are, Catholic. Not Christian at all, last time I looked up its definition. How can the Catholic church look down upon gay peoples right to marriage after all those jokers did to all those poor children a few years back. And all they did was a few transfers and a few slaps on the wrists and back to business as usual.

Keith, the Catholic Church is a seriously corrupt organization. That's nothing new. And the Jesuits responsible for all of the molestations are an example of the worst of the worst this particular slice of religious organizations has to offer, a bunch of freeloading lying and cheating drop-outs from society who will go to great lengths to protect the corrupt and abominable behaviors of their colleagues. Absolutely despicable. Wake up, people! And hold onto your wallets or these guys will take everything from you, including the innocence of your children.
