I agree totally, in that these large front loaders for the American market need to expand their offering to include a 220 volt model. I would think it would be a relatively simple addition - the 220 volt circuit could be used just for the water heater, and the 110 volt motor, pump, and controllers could be retained by using just one leg of the 220 volt circuit (which would give 110 volts).
Some say this won't happen because there isn't a big enough market for a 220 volt machine. I say nonsense. These mfg's see fit to offer three or four versions of each model, so why not offer a 220 volt version?
While I'm at it, I think the mfg's should also allow for reversible washer doors - or offer a right hinged door as an extra cost option. It seems odd to me that the much maligned Maytag Neptune line has managed to offer reversible washer doors since its introduction... without leaks or other issues. High time the others follow suit.

Great Looking Machine
I stopped by Frys yesterday and spent a few minutes actually looking at this new machine.
First, the color is really nice. When you think of blue, you maybe think the machine will look far out, but in person the blue didn't seem over flashy.
Size, this is a hard one. I can certainly see the difference between 3.1 and 3.5. I can see the difference between 3.5 and 3.7/3.8, but looking at this machine, I really can't say that it looks bigger than the 3.8. I can, however, see that the back of the drum seems to be pushed out to the back more.
I was disappointed that it doesn't have a autosoak option, but pleased to see that it does have a "high water" function. It will be interesting to hear how that performs.
Once again, nice looking machine. It is a machine that is certainly setting the bar higher for both size and price.
