Pet Hair Removal in a Front Loader

Hi , I have adopted a new "child" who now wants to lay on top of her dad 24/7 . She has lighter fur that really shows up on my darker clothes and some of it remains there after going through the washer and dryer.

I was thinking of getting some liquid Calgon and adding to the wash and first rinse to make the water more slippery and use the extra rinse option too.

Does anyone have the same problem and how do you handle it?

Doesn't really answer your query, but have never found front loading washers satisfactory for pet hair removal.

If you recall from old posts went with first the Whirlpool portable, then now Maytag wringer all in aid of dealing with lint/pet hair that neither Miele or Lavamat can cope.

Believe local laundromat banned a doggy sit/kennel from using their machines to wash blankets and towels. Those coming after would find their wash coated in pet hair. Indeed oneself took to compelling attendant on duty to run an empty wash cycle (on hot) before using machine. This was the only *huge* machine in place and as the doggie people had just been. One could see masses of hair rising in water and coating inside of drum...

They do say "never mind.... the dryer will remove lint and or hair...". That is all well and good, but what about things one does not plan on putting into dryer?

Probably another solution would be to go over things with a lint brush, whisk broom or something to remove as much kitty hair before it goes into the wash.

Thank you Laundress I adopted her from the pound right before christmas, I think I will need to use a sticky roller first to get off the hair first along with the water softener, fabric softener and dryer sheet to see if that works. I am not seeing any kitty fur in the dryer lint filter .

I will periodically cat sit as well as visit friends with husky pups.
Lots of hair during those perirods.
Unfortunately, neither my Maytag FL nor the old WP DD in my old apartment would get rid of much pet hair. Only a little bit.
Most of it would get vacuumed up in the dryer. Leaving me to do some light sticky rolling.

The only washer that made a dent in pet hair I experienced was my parents’ old Maytag TL with the center filter. And that really only got half of it.

I foster dogs and have had up to 7 at one time. I currently have 4 including 2 long haired German Shepherds. The hair is a never ending battle. I have tried different washers including front loading but find that my old trusty Maytag dependable care top loader removes the most hair.

I have heard people suggest you run your clothes through an air fluff cycle before washing...I've never tried it but for fine cat hair it may work well.

My dryer must do a good job removing it.  I've had 4 cats for years and have never had a problem.

Great "professional grade" lint rollers

We have two cuddly cats and a small Miele front loader. I love it, but it doesn't do such a great job removing pet hair.

I found these lint rollers on a sewing site that sells dry cleaners' supplies.

Just $1.50 each if you buy a case of 12, and the handles are sturdy like a good paint roller and they work really well and last a long time.

Try hoovering the offending garments with the upholstery turbo brush before washing them.
