What memories this ad brought to mind. My father's sister had the exact same washer. I used to stand and watch complete cycles at a time every chance I got to visit. I had never seen a washer like this. I was used to seeing standard agitator washers and Frigidaire washers, yet this washer had neither of these. Yet, the clothes turned over in a smooth even flow. It took down even the most stubborn air bubbles caught in sheets. I loved this washer.

Philco Automagic washer

I was able to watch this one during Roberts 2010 Wash-In. Very fun and amazing capacity, we kept adding more and more and more and while the roll over did slow down, it never did stop! I'm pretty sure the amount of cloths in this washer would have thoroughly CHOKED any other washer!

One of the best

Wahers ever made in my opinion, Philco got this design when they bought Bendix in the 50s, it basically is the Bendix Power Surge machine with a few updates, these will tangle up clothes but if clothes get tangled you can bet they have been washed.

How did you set wash time? There are no indications around the dial, and if everything is pre programed why have a timer knob instead of a start button?
