That creep got his just due..I am liberal on most issues but when it comes to crime, I am very conservative. Saddam got what he deserved ,however I am afraid Iraq will get only worse because of this.
Lets pray 2007 brings closure to this mess of a war and our brave troops including my dear cousin home safely!

Peace out friends

Bonanza!

I heard on local radio at work this morning. I believe in the death penalty anyway but I cant wait to see pictures of this guy swinging! Im sure there will be plenty. Hopefully he suffered to the maximum too. Harsh words I know but lets face it, eye for an eye and all that. Im sure the American division are with me o this. Heres to the safe return of your cousin Shane, and the other guys out there with more guts than me. Top job guys, Nick.

While the death of Mr. Hussein may bring comfort and or a sense of revenge to certian Iraq citizens, it was not the stated purpose for invading that country. Furhtermore if Mr. Hussein's death was the only objective, there were other equally effective methods of reaching that means that die not involve the death of thousands of American,British and others.

As for Mr.Hussein getting what was coming to him, there are plenty of persons in power doing the same or worse; however because they happen to be of use to the United States at the moment (just as Mr. Hussein was at one time) we hear a different story.

Mr. Hussein ceased being relevant the moment Iraq was invaded, his death will achieve nothing in terms of hastening the end of the "war", but will probably give much fuel to his supporters/those against America, who will probably turn the late Mr. Hussein into some sort of martyr.

At work I am watching on Fox news and they repeadily show a video clip of Iraqi executioners walking Saddam from the waiting cell to the gallows-then placing the neuce around his neck-then the clip stops.Yes , this guy got his just diserves

Lets hope with Saddam now gone the war in Iraq can be drawn to a close. This would benefit everyone. Also on the Fox news-they mention that the US has been placed on "Alert"in case of any reprisals from Saddam's execution.

I don't celebrate in anyone's death. However, I hope this brings some closure to all that were affected by his murderous brutality. Perhaps his death will also embolden those who feared his "comeback". Let them now take the reins of their county's destiny so that we can bring back all the brave men and women serving in the region.

Children, place nice!

Opinions are like @$$holes. Everyone has one and some really stink.

Bless your civil and kind hearts, one and all all. It is OK for someone to have a different opinion than yours. In my limited little twisted opinion, the NEED to be right comes from a place of ego. Many religions teach the suppression of ego as a good thing.

Need to get passionate about something?
Fix your OWN life and your own messes, THEN seek to fix the world. (This is not aimed at anyone at all, so breathe!) Perhaps if everyone did just that there would BE no world mess/situations.

...........and Fr. Toggle leaves the pulpit. No need to applaud just throw dollar bills! LOL

BTW, I am waiting to see how long it takes this "Sadddam" thread to turn to destruction! Let's not and say we did.

Interested to note that the big, senior old 1st Bush used to pronounce the name *Sadaam* by putting the stress/accent on the first "A" which means *devil* in Arabic. Said properly I believe the name Sadaam gets accented/stressed on the second (set of) "A"

It really is something how the Bible and what is happening in the world today coincide perfectly. Just a thought and it is not a pleasant one.

World events are playing out just as scriptures planned it to.

Iraq (Babylon) would never again be the power it was in biblical times. All i am saying...man doesn't have all the answers no matter how educated one can possibly be, God does direct world events, and what we SHOULD have done just goes to show who is control. It was meant to be Suddam would be dethroned.

I'll agree with Venus...

We should not celebrate this man's death at all.

I worry about what this means for our troops aslready in Iraq, as I think this will just make things worse. The execution of one man, deserved or not, is not the solution to this problem.

I did not write this but agree 100 %

" I am totally and utterly disgusted, I feel ashamed to be part of the same race as those who gloat and take pleasure in a public execution. How ironic that an evil man like Sadam has shown more dignity in his final minutes than those who are now in charge of Iraq of the US and UK Governments" .

On a personal note I feel that life in jail would have been more of a punishment. There is no doubt he was an evil man, but we must remember we did not go to war over his human right abuses.

Keep praying for our troops!

The death of SadistSaddam is not going to stop the war overseas.

Sadly,I don't think we will see all the troops deploy back home for a lllllllong time. (years)

And I also believe it will get worse, before it gets better.

Every morning during the week, I read a "special" company website blog regarding our employees over in Middle East.

You would not believe some of the things I read. Some of it is out right halarious, and the rest...is all politics between contractors and the military...and it amazes me what hasn't been made public for the rest of the world to see.

Keep these men and women in your daily prayers folks. They have put their lives literally on the line for ALL of us, in the name of FREEDOM & Liberty!

Maytagmom good points

I will keep our men and woman in Service in my prayers.

I agree with Agiflow on this "All i am saying...man doesn't have all the answers no matter how educated one can possibly be"
BUT:
I could not disagree more with Agiflow's position on "God does direct world events, and what we SHOULD have done just goes to show who is control. It was meant to be Suddam would be dethroned."

IMHO-I think it is time for mankind to crawl out of the darkness of supersition and into the daylight of truth to put the blame squarely where it exists.
God granted Free Will on us all. That point cannot be argued against by anyone.
So what we have here on Earth is what WE have done not what God has done. Don't pin the world's state on God, at the start he gave us a perfectly working existence. If you think the world is screwed up then We have screwed it up, not Him.

And the only way out is for Us to change and grow, He's done his part now its Our turn. Take responsibilty for the mess, and have a change of heart.

This is my feeling: there are only two directions on any of the roads of life, either away from God or towards God. You as an individual must choose constantly which way you are going to head.

If you choose away then you head into chaos, if you choose towards then you head into truth.

We'll I guess I needed to get that off my chest phew!

I am shocked, shocked I tell you

Time will show whether this horrible man's death was a good idea or not. It certainly does open the door to more, not less violence in the mid-east.
Back in the US now, I have listened to the opinions of folks over here very carefully the last week.
It is hard to believe that people in the US are reading the same information which the rest of the world is reading.
The number of people who have told me that the US is 'winning' the war, that #43 is the best president ever, that the sacrifice of thousands of young Americans in Iraq is right and proper (dulce et decorum est...)
Unbelievable.
When I grew up in the US, being patriotic meant upholding the constitution and protecting the citizens one was sworn to serve.
Guess that definition got thrown out somewhere along the line. Today it is: My country - love it or leave it!
Heard that one at least four times in the last week as the 'end of discussion' on any topic which called the value of this war into question.
If I thought Saadam's execution would save the life of just one US soldier, I'd have gone over there and done it myself. Now, I fear, we have just witnessed the creation of a martyr.

Sorry to rain on the parade,but.....

I doubt if the death of Saddam will make any difference in the war in Iraq. There is no quick fix to the mess over there.

And I have to say, whatever propaganda "Faux Brews" is spewing forth should be taken for what it is. Propaganda, not news.
Take off the rose coloured glasses, wake up, and change the channel. You'll be doing yourself and your country a "heck of a job" by doing so.

Jetcone, i was not saying God is to blame at all. But what i am saying, or trying to say is that, humans did not create this world or are in no way shape or form in control of what the outcome will be.

Yes, we make choices everyday. It is such a complicated process to describe what we all know to be inside of us.

We sin in our minds everyday,..but what is the SIN,..the thought or the carrying out of the thought? We are all guilty!

His death (Saddam) just makes one wonder how good the outside looks and what unspeakable evil lies underneath.

That doesn't sound like programmed thinking at all, we all know the truth because it is written in our hearts.

Yeah he got what he deserved hung like a dog that he is and hopefully the war can be done with and bring our troops home safe and sound.

An apology to Jetcone

I had no right to assume what you or anyone else here takes comfort in. That was just plain wrong. These topics really bring out what so many of us feel. Just isn't what we all agree on a lot of times.
