I'm real sorry to hear about your Buddy Max. I hope that the Surgery will give him more time with you and will help ease any Pain that he has.
I will be saying some Prayers for both you and Max. You both have a special place in my Heart and you are also be in my thoughts.

Update
I have Max home with me now. the Dr. removed a large tumor and he's resting on his pillow now. Several people mentioned taking him to an oncologist but unfortunately the $10,000+ cost for me is out of my budget. Another treatment option is not affordable either so I'm going to keep him happy and comfortable as long as I can. The Dr. did not find any other cancer in his body which was good news. Thanks for your prayers and concerns. I'll keep you posted.

Maybe, just maybe you'll luck out with Buddy. Our Oncologist was about $1,500.00 for our Brandy.
Did he say what type and level the tumor was? I'm really keeping my fingers crossed and my thumbs pressed for you and Buddy. You are both in our prayers.

Tough to lose an old friend like Max. Prayers for all.

I know this is a very difficult time for everyone, especially those of us who love our babies more than life, but it highlights the importance of having the appropriate pet medical insurance. There are many inexpensive plans available, some that even cover routine well care like vaccinations, spay/neuter services, as well as injury from accidents and, of course, catastrophic illness. It is so important to protect our babies the way we would protect ourselves. Please everyone, for all of us who love our babies, look into this option to help protect the lives of our most precious loved ones. While I know it may not fix a catastrophic illness like cancer or diabetes, it can at least give us, and them, that fighting chance.

I can understand what you are going through. I have had may cats that I had to take care of due to cancer or stroke. Right now my cat of 19 years, named Shelby, is going down hill. She is not eating much, missing the litter box and today stopped washing herself . She is not in pain, but age has caught up with her.

i can relate 100% to what you are
feeling! i just had the same thing happen with my dog "funkie" in april. took her to the vet for a routine check up and found out she had a major tumor in her stomache area. i had to put her to sleep the next week!
there is nothing anyone can say that makes it less painful! it is a very devastating feeling and thing to go thru! sheer pain!
the only thing that helped me was the people who sent me notes to say they had experienced it too. i guess we feel less alone in the pain when we can share and talk about it with other pet lovers who have been there too!
so if it's any help at all to you, i have been there recently and i know several others here have also experienced the loss of their beloved pets recently!
i hope you have a lot of good quaility time days for you and max before he has to go to doggy heaven!

Sorry to hear about your Max. I can understand the sadness that follows for awhile afterwards when you're expecting them there and they're not but it fades

thats where they feel safest. He looks like such a sweet dog, lets hope and pray he may bounce back. Aloysius did after cancer surgery at 9 and lived another 6 years. I hope you are as lucky with Buddy!
