Snuggle fab softener and migraines?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Scents can definitely cause headaches or migraines. If you`re oversensitive to a certain scent it`s probably best to switch to another scent instead of reducing the amount.
Cool Water and original flavour Softlan (Sauvitel) give me headaches. The odd thing is I still like to smell these scents on others just can`t bear them on myself all day long.

Strong scents kill me. I used to sneeze and get a headache from going down the detergent isles in the supermarkets. I have noticed in the past year or so the elimination of most powdered detergents for sale has greatly reduced if not eliminated this. Now if we could get these older woman to shower instead of dousing themselves with perfume. lol Also not a user of Febreeze either. The only thing I found this good for is the trash can liners that have it in it. Keeps the can pretty much with no smell.

What is wrong with these companies?  Do they think the lessons about ORIGINAL FORMULAs only applies to Coke?

It's alright to add additional formulas when you have a winning formula, but to change it?  There should be a law to protect consumers.

Frankly, if I knew that Downy was still the same formula as it was in 1980, I would buy it, but..... I'm afraid.  I had a similar thing happen with this perfume abuse scenario, with clothes getting contaminated.

One ends up having to soak things in a heavy baking soda mix and rinse with vinegar.

After rewashing everything and tossing the Snuggle Blue Sparkle, I felt much better.  Could have been just a coincidence, but I know now that smell will push me over the edge in the future.  Funny though, the dog still smells faintly like it,  I'll give hime another day or two and then he's going to get a bath.!

Michael,

Yes, that's a U of M shirt.  I'm from Michigan, my family still lives in the Detroit area.  I didn't go to U of M but a lot of my friends did and I spent many many fun filled weekends and foot ball games there.  Ann Arbor was only 45 minutes from home so it was easy to pop out there to meet friends and hang out.

Jim,

I'm only 3 years older than you. Did you ever go to backstreet, etc. in Detroit?
Maybe you just have a familiar face.
I used to see David Burtka ( Neil Patrick Harris' partner) at Menjos back in the day. He's from Canton.
I'm an east sider. I grew up downriver.

Small world..  I grew up Downriver.. Allen Park to be exact.   Did I ever go to BackStreet?  Is the pope Catholic.  I was good friends with Carl the owner and my friend Roger was a bartender at "Pulse" the back bar.  My boyfriend was a bar tender at Back Pocket for many years. So the ritual was to meet for drinks at the BP and then walk across to BackStreet.  Oh those were the days.  If I remember correctly...the sequence to go out in Detroit were..

Monday night - Gigi's

Tuesday night - Nectarine Ballroom in Ann Arbor

Wednesday - Backstreet

Thursday - east side bars like the E Ramp, Tiffany's etc.

Friday - Menjo's

Saturday - The Hayloft, Back Pocket, Backstreet circuit

Sunday - Menjo's

Jim, it is a small world, Southgate, in fact.

it's still me, Mike. Robert restored my original profile.
I had some argumentative issues the other day with a couple others.
My integrity was a bit trampled, and I bit back. Italian temper.
I think I may have been to the E ramp once, with my ex.
It was next to the Gas Station, no?
I do miss the Back Stage restaurant. Once in a while, I went to Tiffany's, or Stevens as it was called both.
I remember Carl. I think he passed away. He left a foundation to help gay youth's. Backstreet is now a straight black gentle mans strip club.
I think Necto is still open, We don't go to bars. There are only a few left anyhow. So many moved away during the recession.

Yes, next to the Gas Station.. a bunch a dive bars but somehow alway managed to have a good time.   Ah yes,  Backstage and Footlights... lots of good times there after the bars closed and went out for a bit to eat.  Then there was an Italian restaurant that opened down the street from Footlights, can't remember the name.

Carl died in 94 and most of where or whom he left his money too is a mystery.

When did you live in Southgate?  I was the manager of the Arby's on Eureka for many years, maybe out paths crossed?

morning Jim,

Salute' was the Itlaian place.
We lived on Pullman between Barberry and Howard from 1967 to 1978, then my folks moved to Oakdale st. between James and Burns, rest their souls.
I remember the Arby's on Eureka. It had a dirty black yellow roof.
My old buddy lived across from Bussatti's, behind the hair salon and Roma pizzeria.
I bet our paths have crossed.
Remember B&D vacuums next to Ray Hunter florist on Fort and Veronica I think?
I bought my mom a Eureka brandywine burgundy power team vac there in 1979. I still have it. Fretter Appliance, and Highland?
Where did you live in AP? We had some students at Schafer from southern AP.
My folks were members of St. Pius for well over 3 decades. I went to elementary there. When my mom passed, not one priest had the time to give her last rights.
So my aunts friend form a non denominational hospice did, and also gave my moms memorial eulogy.
I was in procurement for FJ supermarkets, and a prior DM, until 2007.

Still a small world

My uncle was head of data processing for FJ. Not sure if you would have known him...Ed Oljace? I worked at the Lincoln park store for a short time.

My family still  lives off Ecorse/Pelham area, not far from the highschool, since 1977. Funny how things seem to never change there.

Hi Jim,

OMG, I remember your uncles name on the office phone number roster. I did not know him.
I started in July 1976 at store #27 on Dix and Emmons. Did you work there?
I also worked at store #155 at Fort and Emmons a bit.
I remember sending orders on the old teletype machine to data processing.
Did you know Jerry Star, or Dennis LeBlanc?
I took a full time position in Produce in a city store in 1979 because it was closer to school at Wayne State. I was there until 1985 as produce manager. I moved in with my then partner to 13 mile and Dequindre in '83.
When we bought 7 stores from Chatham in '86, I went to 13 mile and Van Dyke. Then I opened 7 mile and Livernois, then to Hall road (M-59) and M-53 (Van Dyke). I went into salaried management by 1989. Rochester Hills, and Shelby Township.
I worked most weekends, so didn't get out much. My ex dumped me in '93 for some one younger. I wasn't ready for the fall, so all I did was work to literally stay focused. I was on auto pilot. I became a DM, then a buyer.
I was about to apply to Publix in Florida and move to Ft.Lauderdale, where a friend had moved to. One hot August Sunday afternoon in '94 I went to a pot luck and met my current partner. The rest is history.
After we closed in '07, I took a job with a small gourmet Italian market. I stayed
2& 1/2 years. They had me at the eastern market every morning at 4 a.m. to buy.
I couldn't get anything decent out of them. My folks got sick, and needed help.
I was driving the 40 miles to take my dad to hemo dialysis three days per week.
So now, enjoying retirement, but not collecting yet.
It's 22 years later almost. I even got step kids. Now a grand daughter.
By the way, my last name is really Roman.
I don't care who knows it here now.
I only did the second profile when I was banned for calling out one who called me a know it all.
Sorry about the ranting on.
If you want to ever talk more, I can e-mail you, and you will have my e-mail address.
I promise not to be a pest.
Peace, take care, and have a great day and weekend!
Sunday is my B.D. 39 again! Hey, I have way fewer wrinkles than Tony Danza does.
The only photo I have to post is from 1995, when I looked much younger than now.

re; Backstreet memories etc.

One bartender I remember was one named Tom. A friend said he just had lots of sex, no boyfriends.
A supposed straight friend from high school who I came out to showed up there one Saturday night. He slept with anyone he could. He also died in 1991. He thought HIV was made up by the Govt.
He blamed me and other friends for bringing him out.
When did you move?
I never thought a nice middle class suburb like Allen Park would ever go bankrupt.
