We had a fried turkey also here in Connecticut. Our host also made a roasted turkey, so there would be enough for all. Well that fried turkey was a show stopper. It was moist, crisp and succulent all at the same time. That carcass was picked clean and every possible morsel was eaten. Unbelievable!!!
As for the heavy duty setting on the Kenmore, I have the Whirlpool and yes, that setting is way too harsh for anything!! Year old towels are frayed at the edges, new shirts have buttons ripped off and all the clothes wear very prematurely. Now, the inside of the machine smells of mildew. This has never happened to a washer of mine before. And no it isn't in a damp basement and yes, the lid is always open when not in use. I have decided I hate that machine passionately. Next stop, Speed Queen top loader......
