I have a 1928 Marshall and Wendell grand piano and need recommendations on what to use to polish the cabinet? I have cleaned it already and go a lot of "gunk" off of the finish. The finish is lacquer so everyone please drop me a note and tell me what to use. Thanks, Gary

I only use Goddard's Cabinet Maker's Wax on my fine furniture.  Used it for over 40 years, everything gets waxed once a year and it looks and protects beautifully.

I will not use the aerosol stuff the spray bottle stuff is best.  Needs a little buffing after the initial application.  I use one cloth to spread after the furniture is sprayed and another to buff.

interesting testament.  I had a leak in my 2nd floor bathroom shower and it dripped on my pecan dining room table for the better part of a day or so.  The polish protected the table perfectly, but I had been applying it once a year for 40+ years - no noticeable build up either.

My baby grand is shiny black lacquer and my dealer told me to only use a damp cloth moistened with water.  But once out of 27 years I used car wax on the top.  It sure made it shine and hid some of the swirls that have shown up over the years.
