X, Robert (unimatic) OWNS this site. He puts a lot of time and energy into it. He can reserve the right to refuse service to anyone regardless of whether you or I feel he is right or wrong in exercising that right. <br
Like other posters above, I find it curious that you would even click on this thread, given its title and your obvious issues with and misconceptions about gay people. Would you mind sharing with the rest of us what motivated you to delve into a thread that goes against your core values? Inquiring minds want to know.

Not meaning to divert the tenor of this thread, but . . .

Can I ask a trivial question? What is the significance of the cake references on here? I see them all the time, not only on this thread but also on others. Things like "Have some cake," etc <br
I actually did a search on it, thinking it might be some kind of popular colloquialism, but I found nothing <br
Am I missing something? This has been bugging the heck out of me, so I just had to ask <br
Thanks

It's our way of diffusing bombs. <br
Hospitality

Socializing
Gathering <br
Perhaps, even filling one's hole so it can't speak nonsense
And of course WHO could complain about a face full of whipped cream? <br
Nut cake, fruit cake, chocolate cake, carrot cake. rainbow cake. Bunt cake....... We serve 'em all!

I've said it earlier and

I'll say it again <br
"Down with fundamentalism in any faith!&quot
Or Political View Point <br
It's time all moderate people in the world smashed the fundamentalist movement world wide <br
The love of God is unconditional, with all your comments do you think you are greater than God to decide who gets love and who doesn't? Who are you to decide what normal is <br
XYZ I doubt you ever were fired from your job due to your supposed sexuality! Were you <br
Louis, I love what you wrote <br

Robert, I applaud you...

You said what needed to be said, succinctly and to the point. And, I applaud your decisive, fair-minded action. <br
Sadly, it appears that some people have too much time on their hands and seem to enjoy stirring the pot and generating negativity. I have zero tolerance for such garbage. Life's too short to indulge in negative energy, behavior or thoughts, especially in extra curricular activities that are meant to be pleasurable. There are too many negative situations and circumstances in life that we can't avoid. We don't need to put up with it here--in a forum that is meant for everyone's enjoyment and pleasure. <br
And, I have zero tolerance for any homophobic bull@#%$. What decade is this? I'm gay and I'm damn proud of who I am. I spent too many years feeling ashamed because of ignorant and hateful people. Then I woke up and realized that the ignorant and hateful people had the problem, not me. <br
When I was younger, I too was embarrassed by some of the more outrageous personalities in our "community." And, then I grew up and realized it was only my own internalized homophobia that caused my embarrassment. I learned that the people I cared about would and will judge me based on my actions and behavior. And, as Robert wrote above... equality is not the same as conformity. After all, that's one of the basic rights upon which this country was founded--the freedom to be individuals. It always amazes me and strikes me as utterly hypocritical that we--as a country--simultaneously pride ourselves on our basic rights to be free and individuals, yet some who claim to be the most patriotic do not accept segments of our population that don't conform to their interpretation of the "norm"; how utterly ironic. Maybe this is an appropriate reminder with July 4th just around the corner.

Gay pride day is a celebration of pride and visibility of a group of people that were forced to hide who they are until recently. It's a celebration of people that refuse to hide anymore. It's not about recruitment; we'll leave that for the religious idiots that knock on my door once a month. We don't need a straight pride day any more than we need a 'rich people that drive Mercedes' day <br
If you want to talk washers, why are you in this thread <br
Ken D <br

Oh wait....shouldn't we have a heterosexual hate crimes bill too? I mean gay folks have been beating up on straight folks for a long time now. Such violence should never be tolerated. I mean, how would those gay folks like it if straight folks went around beating the crap out of them, even killing them, just because they were gay???? Really now........

Lisen all yall, <br

"If you want to talk washers, why are you in this thread?&quot <br
I said it before, I'll say it again: victim complex. It's a real problem in this country <br
And it's not because of "PC", it's not because of "liberals", it's not because of "the nanny state" or "the government" or even the "gay agenda". It's because people want someone else to blame for their problems and shortcomings. So they go after the usual suspects: Gays, Blacks, Mexicans, Unions - whatever straw they can grasp. There's entire religions - although let me strongly stress not ALL religions - that are founded on the theology of the victim complex. <br
Sorry for the rant, but I see it every day in dealing with the public: wannabe victims. Most folks are still honest, good-hearted and hard-working. But the ranks of the wannabe victims keeps growing.

<i>Because I am curious why this thread is on a washing machine/laundry forum instead of a GBLT forum.</i <br
Because me wishing my friends a happy holiday belongs here. It is as simple as that.

Because you're in the Super Forum, where these types of off topic posts are found and permitted. If you don't want to read them, stick to Deluxe and Imperial Forums, where we talk about washers, dryers and dishwashers, new and old. These are the rules of the site as put forth by our webmaster and it's been this way for years. If you're not interested in a particular topic, don't click on it, though I have to say, I've learned more new things here by clicking on things that I wasn't really interested in.

I have 3 words for

BTJustice and XYZ and all other homophobes. <br <br <br <br <br <br <br <br
I would also suggest you respect Robert and his wishes. if you can't then maybe you should leave. Just a suggestion. Peace out America !

"But the ranks of the wannabe victims keeps growing.&quot <br
This is very true <br
I hear it in comments, every day, as I go about business, and I particularly hear it in politically oriented writing, blogging, etc., of which I do participate <br
Firstly, this is encouraged, because it can be used as a diversion against other issues, that the powers that be have no desire in addressing <br
Secondly, it's a form of "divide and conquer" <br
Thirdly, it enables the victim to participate in every sort of chicanery and falsehood known to man under a smokescreen, and emerge as a righteous cause themselves <br
People are barraged by a daily onslaught of this routine daily, and simply give up defending what is right, out of exhaustion <br
Happily, the gay community does not exhaust easily... <br
Never make the assumption that our silence indicates acquiecence <br
We see and hear every word <br
And we tend to act, at EXACTLY the perfect moment.

"I too was embarrassed by some of the more outrageous personalities in our "community.&quot <br
Sometimes I was too <br
Then I realized, we wouldn't have many ANY gains as a group if it wouldn't have been for some of our more far-out sisters, especially back in the day <br
They fought with courage and faith, for what did they have to lose?

I agree totally Robert!!! It still amazes me why people have such a hard time just skipping over threads that bother them.

Why is this topic here?

Well, the owner/operator/author/moderator of this website put it here. <br
This thread isn't going away, threads of this same topic will come up from time to time - as you'll see when you've been a member longer than ten days. It's over now, let it go <br
"It's better to say nothing and be thought the fool than to speak and remove all doubt." A. Lincoln

<i>Because you're in the Super Forum, where these types of off topic posts are found and permitted.</i <br
Well yes, but only topics where the big gay boy owner of this website approves. Anything that is remotely racist (gross) or anti-gay (ishy) is not approved. Sorry but that is the way it is. Remember you are more than welcome to start you own washer website under your own rules if you don't like my rules. It's really not that hard to do <br
I'll get around to deleting XYZ and BT posts in here tomorrow as they are against the rules. I don't feel like it right now and I have a wash load in the '58 Whirlpool Combo that needs folding before it wrinkles <br
But here is how I would like this thread to end. Anyone who so wishes to wish us and our friends here one last Happy Gay Pride for 2007, please simply post those three little words on the end of this thread and nothing else as a show of support. Then after we are all finished wishing each other Happy Gay Pride the thread will work its way off until next June with you can bet your cute boyfriend's butt we're going to wish everyone happy holidays once again. Proudly of course.

That is GLBT,not GBLT.... <br
