I'll be taking a ton of unboxing photos, no doubt. You'll have to excuse the garage, it's such a mess from winter. I hope to be able to get the washer down to the basement still boxed for protection, otherwise I'll have to enlist my friend with his huge biceps to assist me :-)

I'll be posting videos on YouTube this afternoon also, I'm going to film it's intial booting, where you get the welcome screen, language selection, shipping strut removal warning, and initial request to start a 70C sanitary wash. :)

220lbs of German Bliss, is about to arrive!

LOL!

So I took the day off for this grand event, and my hag at work sent me this:

"Sabrina" i just heard there was big wreck on the interestate, a semi turned over and caught fire..loaded with washers
andrew.leeling: LMAO!!!!!

Celebration!

She's here! Cold, tired, and begging for me to drag her inside the garage entryway. I've got space heaters aimed at her, not too close though as we do not want to cook her. She's got ice in the drum seal, and the pump filter is frozen solid LOL. Some of the pictures look like there are scratches on the panel, but it's just saw dust and stuff from shipping. It's a bit dirty as well.

Well if I was stuck on a truck since Monday at this time of year, I'd be frozen also. The drain pump is now draining and It'll be ready for installation around 6pm, so about 4 hours to go before my bicep assistant arrives. It does have recessed handles on the back of the lid as well as the front bottom for carrying thank god.

I did black out the serial number on these pics with Photoshop - sorry guys, I'm paranoid like that.

More to follow!

Andrew

I'm so excited!!!!

Wow...

I can feel the exciment up to here! She's a beauty really! Btw why did you marked the serialnumber? (Have no clue why you did this :$)... Also what's the plastic port in the centre of the back?

I would have blacked out the serial number as well. Remember the WORLD can see ANYTHING on here.

How come there is so much ice? One would think the unit would have arrived moisture free?

The port in the back is for the WLAN Adapter, not entirely sure that I'd need to have that connected to my home network so I could pay who knows how much per month for Miele RemoteVision :-) I don't even think remote vision ended up being available for the 3000 series, even though they have ports for them.

I blacked out the serial number as that will be registered to me at Miele, along with my address etc. I had my identity stolen in 2002 - you learn to do these things after such a horrible experience!

She's thawing nicely :)

hmm I guess...

your right! It never occured to me that you can find the adress by a serial number...
She is a beauty (or am I repeating this I've already said xD)

Water in drum

The water in the drum / sump is from testing at manufacturing. I guess they don't drain it out other than what the pump can pump out on it's own. I'm sure being a Miele, it'll be fine, but to me leaving water in it when it's being shipped in sub-zero regions is not a wise idea. We all know water expands when frozen :-)

The pump is finally defrosted and dryed out, and the pump rotates freely now. I'm still waiting for her heart and lungs to come up to room temperature, before I plug her brain in.

Dryer

Dryer will be here probably in Mid Feb. They were backordered :( But they still gave me free shipping and the $50 off the dryer, so I can't bitch. At least it's not going to weigh 220lbs!!!

First run video

Here is an unedited video I wanted to upload in a jiffy for you guys. The Miele is still not in her permanent spot as I'm still working on finishing the basement, so that's why the drain hose is duct taped to the laundry sink ;-)

LOVE THIS WASHER!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew

No sleep for sure!

Hi Mike,

No I just have it draining into the wash tub temporarily as I'll have to move the washer to finish the drywalling and texturing soon. Behind the wall is where all of the plumbing connections and electrical are at, we have standard city plumbing that drains to the sewer system here.

I was up intil about 1:00am. Ran a load of towels at 70C to help get rid of any residual oil residue from manufacturing. I have an infrared thermometer, and the target temp of the Miele is right on, 158F, or 70C is the limit here in the US. My LG always struggled to hit target temps, especially if the basement was cold.

I then washed my backpack on delicates, and about had an orgasm when I saw the AWESOME high water level abotu 1/4 up the glass.

I'll be moving my bed to the basement soon... LOL j/k

Pics

Here are a couple pics of the frozen pump and pump filter that I had to wait to thaw before I could fire her up on Tues night. Also pics of the nice water level on Delicates washing some bath rugs.
