Whew! Does this mean that we are safer, yet still not safest?

OSAMA BIN LADEN???

Sigh. Das Blog. Loser me.

These are my principles, and I hope you like them.
But don't worry if you don't. I have others.

Methinks my sense of humour is misunderstood.

My own opinions smell worse than anyone's. Of that I am sure.

Mickey I have no idea what you are talking about in most of your thread.

If you want to clear the air, feel free to send me an e-mail.

This is your third direct attack on me, so I get that we are not drinking buddies.

I wish you well. I send you blessings.

hail Chrissie....

Take, take, take, takin' what you don't need
You'll get, get, gettin' what you don't need
Stand back, take a look and take heed
All the children in god's kingdom bleed
See the networks of concrete and steel
They've no mystery but what they reveal
Tells a story of a future that's void
Of the beauty and the majesty that life on
Earth is meant to be

Talk, talk, talk, talk about the government
And not a word about political favour
Everything touched is my political choice
The life you take is your political voice
The sacred cows come crashing to their knees
Golden harvest reaped without intelligence
There's no chance between the heavens and the seas
In a blood bath don't laugh
Grab your piece of golden calf

Waste not want not pick it up
Waste not want not pick it up
Waste not want not pick it up
Waste not want not

Do unto others as you wish be done to you
There's a million lies 'round everything true
You slaughter when you feast
You disrespect the beast
Make our beds and lie there, take your share

Waste not want not pick it up
Waste not want not pick it up
Waste not want not pick it up
Pick it up and eat it
Waste not want not

And your constant "selectivity" and exclusivity and that "We are better than you" "I'm okay, but you're not" mentalty is disgraceful.

Perhaps this is a sign of a person who is insecure and hurting, deep down.

Your kind words are very comforting. Thank you.

Jesus Christ!

If one cant debate and discuss without getting ones panties in a bunch, then dont post! If you cant present a point or an arguement in a concise and polite manner, then dont post. Who agrees?

It will be interesting to see what sort of effect the death of Saddam will have on Iraq; will it bring an end to this brutality, or simply a martyr? And about Bin Laden: you have to wonder about "connections" Bush has with the Bin Laden family, which probably have something to do with the fact that he hasn't surfaced yet (and won't ever for the rest of his term, I'm willing to bet).

I agree 100% with David. Not speaking for anyone, but Mike, I do think you misunderstood Toggle and his mannerisms and that they came across the wrong way. When you meet him next Spring in Tucson, it will be different...;-)

Thanks, I was trying to say let's not let let this controversial thread tear us apart over politics, as we saw in a thread just recently.

Sorry it came across so poorly. I was not responding to the post and posters above mine.

This is humour, in case you cant tell.

Matter and anti-matter in the same room? That should give off some energy! *LOL* any Trekkies out there care to tell us what happens when those two are placed together?

KA-BOOM!

Well I for one would like to see my accuser, look into his eyes, be in his aura, get his vibe and vice-versa. THEN if daggers are to fly so be it. Before that time methinks it is not all that good to base one's thoughts entirely on gossip, or another's ability to express in writing via this medium.

and in case you were wondering it's not megalo-mania where megalo means "large" it's GIGANTO-MANIA (where "giganto-" means giant.)

Keep smiling! I just KNOW that the soul of Saddam is watching over me, in that I have not judged him in this thread. *LOL*
He who is free of sin may cast the first stone....or somethimg to that effect.

Say what yo mean rich if you have a problem with it

Hi Agiflow,

I don't have a problem with anyone in particular it's just that I see a few passionate people, in this club, who seem to be so intent on "teaching" us all what is "right or wrong" and calling it an opinion and are very unwilling to see anyone elses opinion.. I don't feel that I'm stupid but I know that I will never stop learning and this is why I listen, read and use logic. I have to wonder if these "debates" would become so heated if we were all face to face and not sitting behind a machine. I wasn't attacking you, Pat, or anyone else. That's not my nature. I am a very peaceful person and am trying like hell to find some peace in what is turning out to be the most sad and tragic holiday of my 44 years (nothing to do with world events). I try to lose myself in the fun of this list but I'm just finding it so hard to when I see all of this dissention as of late. Perhaps I'm just being too sensitive :-)

I hate to see bickering. It started in a recent tread and now it's happening in this one. It tends to lead to very hurt feelings and then we have the "Well! If he's/she's going to be at the wash-in then I'm not going" behavior. This would be most sad. Don't say that it can't happen. It can, it does and I've seen it happen in other groups that I've been involved in. I love people and would love to meet many of you so this is why I keep my most important thought/opinions to myself or I direct them, in person or by phone, to a few chosen confidants who know me well enough to know just what I mean. I love this site because of the great opportunity for me to meet people who have the same hobby interests and to make some new friends both of which I feel blessed to have done. Sadly a couple of these friends have chosen to quietly leave this club because of the bickering and hostilities that have been shown to various people. THIS IS SAD!

I hope that I haven't offended anyone and, if I have, please accept my most sincere apologies.

You know guys, I really don't understand what the big deal about all this really is. Personally, I don't give a good damn what anyone thinks, and I never have. But it certainly does not mean that because someone thinks differently then I do that I can't call that person a friend or be open to his/her point of view. Or in any way, shape or form treat that person poorly, talk about him/her behind their back or even not show up at a wash-in because those folks with opinions different then mine might be there. That's just ridiculous. Sometimes folks express opinions in ignorance, or what I call "uninformed opinions". There's nothing wrong with educating them....after all, that's what we're all here for.

I haven't seen a single example of anyone attacking anyone in this thread. There is no reason to be so sensitive that we can't be friends and express opinions that may be different from our fellow posters? We're all adults here, and damned fine people, too, I might add. There is nothing that anyone on this board, or any other, can say that is going to materially alter your life! It's just an opinion. And let's face it, not everyone has a way with words, either. It does not make them bad or undeserving. Some express opinions through humor, but not everyone "gets it". That's okay too. I personally find those particular folks to be very amusing myself, but that's just my opinion. They are not intent on purposely offending anyone.

The poster who started this thread, SudsDudeShane, and I have been best friends for over 12 years. If you think that he and I agree on everything, you are so wrong. We are very different people. Yet we are also very good friends...because we don't attack each other and call each other names like schoolyard children. We just disagree on things from time to time, and move on. If one feels that they just have to be right, then so be it. It certainly does not make them a bad person, just somewhat of a pain in the ass at the family picnic! Again, nothing that they are going to say here is going to materially affect your life!!

We are all pretty intelligent folks who have lots of different life experiences to bring to the table that others can learn from. If you don't understand the context of a posting, just ask before you go ballistic. Sometimes folks respond negatively before they've even read a post completely.

This is a new year. Let's let respect and courtesy be the buzzwords around here for the new year. I think we all deserve that. And that is just my opinion!!!

Thanks all...and a very safe, happy and healthy new year to everyone.

For whatever controversies it may occasionally house, I have come to love the SUPER forum. Do you remember---in the not too distant past, I might add---when the it had half the traffic it does now? Now it's become the most active forum (at least from my observation) at this site.

SUPER has also broadened its audience among our members. Some members who rarely ventured into this territory are now regulars.

Here's to a 2007 of spirited conversations on detergents, music, coffee makers and, occasionally, deposed dictators!

Actually, I think I do! In the Ford thread, I didn't attack anyone, go for first blood, or have a hissy fit over a natural occurrence that absolutely could not be changed.

There's a small core of posters that are determined to force everyone to subscribe to their flavor of jingoistic righteousness. A smaller subset of these folks are popular, welcoming people whom other members have come to a lot of affection for. I believe few of these other posters dislike the progressive guard, and want for all concerned to live together in peace and harmony, like the Magic Garden (remember that show?)

These in-betweeners get inadvertantly sucked into a peacemaker role. My parents were divorced, and I wouldn't want to play "Swiss Miss" into my dotage either.

So people walk on eggshells and no one's legitimate frustrations are ever alleviated.

It's weird, but I guess we all muddle through (or, as I said, are forced off the board)....

Thank you Scotty!!

Your KIND words, advice and rebuttal were well thought out and articulated. More so than mine probably were. I am going through a very bad time in my life, at the moment, so perhaps I am just way too sensitive and need to take a break from this list. I will not leave for good but I think that perhaps a short "vacation" is in order.

Again, thank you, Scotty, for not jumping down my throat and as far as I'm concerned...we're cool!!! :-) Please don't leave AWORG! You would be missed!

Gary....Agreed :-)
