Same place

Same place, OK-Sewing and Vacuum. I'll just nicely say that I've had a horiffic experience with them with my Miele S7, and will never return to that store again. Ever. Ever ever ever...

Ever.

Ever.

Thats the place! I am surprised that they are still in business. I went in there looking for vac bags for my Miele 248i vac and they had no clue what i was looking for.

Enroute

TRAILER 281279 IS ENROUTE TO CRYSTAL LAKE IL USA

I sure hope they have good roadways in Crystal Lake, IL... I do not want her to be jostled on her journey... LOL

3 more days! (Sorry guys, I have to share the excitement!)

You Go

Right ahead Andrew! Share the excitement. Miele does do an exceptional job at packaging their washers and dryers, well in fact all their appliances. Check out the link to Miele's website. Click the first video "Gutersloh Factory". You'll get to see the product of the machines as well as how the "crash test" them. Very fascinating.

Tub Paddles

I like a machine with tub paddles that are steel. I also prefer the paddles to extend the full depth of the tub. It really makes for a more energized wash.

01/19/2010 09:00 - 17:00

With my persistance via email and calls to the delivery company, I've got "DO NOT OPEN OR UNBOX" plastered allover their systems :-)

About 24 hours to go!

Break out some Champagne!

Welcome that machine into service by raising a glass of bubbly when she arrives!

I know you must be counting the minutes...

Long Haul!

I do believe she will be very tired and cold on her 2nd half of her journey. Here is a map of her route to my cozy basement! I've already got the tripod setup for the filming of her initial startup / programming ;-)

LOL. I did the same thing with my Speed Queen. I read every bit of info I could find in the long week's wait--including bugging the store every few minutes waiting on it's delivery. I painted the laundry closet, scrubbed the floor, and even dug out 2 grocery bags full of lint using the Lint Eater (which works well by the way).

Of course, that's 1/2 the fun--it's also when you know you're going to get something you really enjoy. I could never say that I've been as excited to get other appliances.

Are newer Miele's made in Mexico now?

I agree...

Take the day off! I wouldn't be able to function properly at the office with the arrival just around to corner.

Malcolm

Miele Day!

It's loaded on the truck, now I'm waiting... anxiously... for them to call 30 mins ahead of the arrival.

I did take the day off :-)

The Waiting Basement

Andrew,

You need to post a pic or two of the completed laundry area in the basement. The waiting space for your new toy...

Malcolm

Basement

Well... yea... LOL Ummmm I've still got some more mudding to do and sanding (I've been lazy), but I have the texture sprayer, got that last week. I'm about 70% done with the basement really.

And you can believe that the Miele will have 3 layers of plastic covering over her before I get to the texture spraying! :)

It should be here soon... just waiting for the phone to ring.

Arrival Pix

Andrew,

I am interested to see how well your Miele is packaged from the factory. Can you snap a pic or two before the unpackaging?

Malcolm

Pics

I'll be taking a ton of unboxing photos, no doubt. You'll have to excuse the garage, it's such a mess from winter. I hope to be able to get the washer down to the basement still boxed for protection, otherwise I'll have to enlist my friend with his huge biceps to assist me :-)

I'll be posting videos on YouTube this afternoon also, I'm going to film it's intial booting, where you get the welcome screen, language selection, shipping strut removal warning, and initial request to start a 70C sanitary wash. :)

220lbs of German Bliss, is about to arrive!
